Playing vinyl off turntable, hearing scratching noise, worried.
I didnt know where else to post this so I'll ask here. For those who use turntables, is it normal to hear frequent scratching from the needle? This is not when listening to a vinyl directly through a mixer, just what youd hear externally. Could it be the pressure of the tonearm? Whoever can post a decent response, thanks.
Sounds like it's not grounded properly.
Well the unusual thing about this turntable is that it doesnt have a port to insert a ground wire, its just a USB turntable, which I mainly use for converting vinyl.
Then it's probably just a piece of shit. Enjoy.
Poop on it.
That should work.
It's a TT without a grounding cable? Oh dear.....Bas is on the money.

Exactly which turntable do you have?
Does it have a fixed headshell and needle, or can you put on your own?
For how long have you been using it, and has the needle ever been changed?
Normal wear and tear could easily be the reason for the scratching, but your post is far too vague for anyone to really help you properly.

take the cover off the needle.
replace cartridge with this:
Dude I suggest you forget about the USB table if you plan on ripping quality vinyl. With 500$ you could probably get a 1200mk2 + a nice phono pre amp + quality cartridge. Those USB tables are for old grandmas who want to rip their old vinyl.
