Jamie Jones @ Essential Mix (02-10-2009)

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

Overall good. Really liked the last two tracks, amazing. Anyone can come up with an ID list? Apparently BBC1 site had some issues.

Didn't know Jamie Jones was on EM. Really looking forward to it.

Gave it a listen, couldn't get into it. Feels like I'm stuck in a discotheque in the 70's.

10 mins in and it's fucking incredible... easily my favorite DJ in the world at the moment.

Anyone got a tracklist?? this is pretty good thaks!

Posted by DJ_Lord on Oct-04-2009 22:54:

I'm not particularly enjoying his transitions, but a tracklist would be nice.

I liked a lot of the tracks but I agree the transitions are not good, they are far to sudden.

i guess this proves the myth...producers can't mix

I reckon you've never heard a Jamie Jones set before, huh?

Posted by DJ_Lord on Oct-05-2009 01:16:

i have...pero i was just mentioning since i've heard so many people say that producers can't mix for some reason..i think i even saw a thread about it recently.

He's probably heard this one which presumably has bad transitions (haven't listened to it). So going by that argument, yes, yes he has.

Posted by Demoted on Oct-05-2009 02:04:

Though, come to think of it, I haven't heard a Jamie Jones set either

I liked some of his tracks; I just never sat down to listen to one of his sets. Fucking house music.

LOL, that's why I wrote "before"...BEFORE listening to this set.

Also, he's been a DJ for waaaaaaay longer than he has been producing.

I was finding loopholes

But no, I haven't heard a Jamie Jones set either. Never really been all that interested actually.

If you're ever interested, here's a couple of sets

Hoping it's not full of his tracks because although I like his productions, a full set would seem pretty boring.

Not at all Alex. All I'm going to say is that if you like Danny Howells, you'll appreciate what's been done here. And I already know you love Danny Howells.

Yeah I've heard sets from Jamie before so I have a slight idea of his style, but seeing as his album was just released I wouldn't be surprised if he did a bit of self-whoring.

As far as Howells, who doesn't love him? Comparing Jamie's EM to Howells makes me excited

Posted by woscar on Oct-05-2009 04:16:

I'm sure you'll love it. I thought it was fantastic.

I'm trying very hard not to sound like an elitist asshole here, but anyone who listens to this mix and has nothing better to say than "lousy transitions" or "feels like I'm stuck in a 70s disco" is a complete imbecile.

Yeah people are obviously unaware of his style if they're saying that.
