COMPRESSION FRI: The goodbye begins w/ ROBTRONIK @ King King

COMPRESSION Presents ROBTRONIK - Last Time Headlining Compression
This Friday, OCT 9 @ King King, Hollywood

// We Say Goodbye, Hello.
On Friday, November 27th Compression will have its 4 year anniversary @ Cinespace with Claude Von Stroke & and the entire Dirtybird SF Crew in the house. As all good things must come to an end, so will Compression. On Friday, November 27th, we will be able to look back on an incredible 4 year run as Southern California's premier techno and house club. There are many thanks in order for many who have created this amazing journey - and those will come in due time, but for now I would love to see you come out and party with me, Andre Ezer, and special guest opening DJ Cameron Van Peebles. It will be my last time headlining Compression and I would love to spend it with friends, family, and insanely dedicated enthusiasts of our dance music culture. So what comes next, you ask? Keep your eyes peeled... more information coming soon....

Sincerely,

Robtronik

what made you decide this?

Lots of things. But mostly because I'm moving on to other ideas - some born out of the experience with Convention, some driven by the state of the scene and the music now, some from the desire to evolve, etc.

But the short of it is: I've got a new brand and idea that I've put together. I'm going to launch in 2010.

Compression has served its purpose. Its been great, I think it did what I set out to do with it 4 years ago. And to retire it now feels right to me.

So, this isn't the end (well, it is for Compression as a regular club night)... but rather a new beginning. And that beginning should make a lot of people happy when I debut it.

wow... guess it is an end of an era. lots of changes going on in the near future.

well, I believe in building on what has come before... so when I launch, I think it will become very apparent why it was a good thing and why it will be seen as something that will be part of the growth of the LA dance culture.

Boom Box, Compression, Convention, etc. I've been trying to work towards bigger and better things since I started being active here in LA.

I hope you will like it when I announce early next year.

i wish u the best of luck my friend. once an official announcement is made, i'm definitely making plans to come back and support.

Thank you. It would be good to see you come back for that.

Wish you weren't leaving at all, good sir.

Don't Cry For Me Argentina = Don't Cry For Me Compression! No, I'm going go miss Compression, nothing but good times/vibes/phenomenal music. But I trust in the Pointer vision and wherever that may take us in the future. I'll be waiting for 2010. It's also smart to go out when you're at the top. 4 Year Anniversary with Dirtybird SF seems like a great way for Compression to go out. What will be the frequency of events you will be throwing in the future, Rob -- Quarterlies, monthlies?

Compression will be something like 3 times a year as special shows that are meant to be big. That's another reason why I'm retiring it as a clubbing brand per se.

Convention will be annual - and in Sept.

And the new thing? ... well, you'll just have to wait and see. :P

thank you good sir.

But don't forget, we've still got some good shows coming up to end it all up proper.

please come out if you can - would love to finish this shizz out with a bang. (man, that sounded porno. lol)

I wish it were easy enough for me to have packed up all of my shit and moved down to LA while Compression was going on. I've only made it out two or three times, but each time was a helluva-time.

3 Channels was dope. I don't think anyone else brought them out to Cali.

John Tejada w/ Francois K was fucking badass. You know it was a great night when you head back home (2 hours of driving), and it would be dead quiet in the car because it wouldn't be possible to speak to friends because my voice would be totally fucked.

Planetary Series were great, never made it to Convention.

Looking forward to what's in store
