King Looking for new moderators...

This thread should have been started a long time ago and I apologize for that. It's been long overdue that we need to clean these areas up so let's not waste more time.

I've had TAs recommended to me, some PM'd offering to do it and I also have my own ideas as to who it should be. I'm thinking it's better to have 2 mods for the above 4 forums but with each being the main moderator for only 2 of them.

Thoughts? Please suggest names/volunteer yourself and post your ideas on how we can best arrange this

I love you.

I can help out in the DJ Promo section. I'm in there multiple times a day as it is

There haven't been any huge problems in there, just the occasional spam thread, or threads linking to radio shows etc, but they'd be easy enough to clean up/move to an appropriate place.

I'm happy to help people out with hosting their mixes too, since Sendspace/Megaupload/etc seem to be blocked at a lot of people's work computers, and are a bit sketchy sometimes anyway.

My hat is in for PS... as you know. And I'd love to help MPP as well.

Posted by lenazi on Oct-07-2009 22:25:

i would do it, but that is never going to happen. That would be like obi wan asking darth vader to join his softball team.

Posted by lenazi on Oct-07-2009 22:26:

sushi is a good alternative considering he hosts half of the mixes on here.

<<<< Always in and out of the Production Studio and Music Promotion forums daily, sometimes hourly.

& been around for 4 years.

I would nominate: Diginut, RichieV, Cryophonik, and DJstephenwiley.

I know Cryo said it wouldn't want to mod last time I heard, but maybe he has changed his mind.

I will gladly volunteer myself to help clean up Production and Producer Promo forums. Have been administrator and moderator at other active boards for years, and have posted in those two forums for over three years.

+1 for Cryphonik, MrJiveBoJingles, Diginut, and DJStephenWiley.

Posted by Acton on Oct-07-2009 22:49:

I'll gladly offer my services for the producer forums, so count that as me volunteering!

Posted by Demoted on Oct-07-2009 22:53:

I'll throw my services in as fluffer.

Diginut? That guy is a fucking spud.

Definitely Sushipunk for the DJ Promo section, he hosts plenty of the mixes posted there and always contributes with comments.

Posted by lenazi on Oct-07-2009 23:13:

if it isn't sushipunk, it must be dj bobby west.

seriously though, a guy that gives a shit enough to host strangers work will do a bang on job.

Posted by lenazi on Oct-07-2009 23:21:

Posted by Lews on Oct-07-2009 23:29:

I volunteer, if need be. Not that you'll choose me since you don't know who I am lol but I volunteer all the same!

As a mod, I would draw on my vast 10+ years of experience in flamebaiting and precision-timed caustic black humour to ferret out the ignorant and squeamish for public ridicule and subsequent expulsion. And paddlin', if it comes to that.

Seriously: It wouldn't be my first tea party, and I think I'm on often enough and know the subject matter well enough to make informed decisions in the production forums. Having said that, there are lots of others who I'm sure would do just as good a job - cryophonik knows where it's at and Stephen Wiley I think is here 24/7, haha.

Please do bring on at least 2 mods because guaranteed there will be times when the primary one isn't around and some spambot is running rampant. With 4 forums you might even want 3, because there isn't *that* much crossover between the production/DJing and promotion forums, and hardly any between production and DJing. I think it might be good to have one main mod for DJ booth, one for prod studio, and one for the promotion forums because those are really kind of a different beast.

Just a suggestion of course, I'll trust your judgment here. As long as we've got at least 2 then it'll probably run OK...

(P.S. Yes, I am a potato. Whatever that means.)

Re: Looking for new moderators...

I can think of a lot of good candidates, but I think my vote would go to MrJiveBoJingles, Diginut, and/or Nightshift for the Music Producers Promotion and Production Studio forums. They've all been around a long time, are frequent visitors, and they all seem to have their heads on straight.

(BTW, I really appreciate all the votes, but I'm over-committed as it is and I sometimes go days or weeks without looking at TA)
