Furniture stores?

Hey all,

I'm looking to buy a nice, well made sofa from a non-chain furniture store, i.e., The Brick, Leon's, Bad Boy, Ikea, etc. Barrie offers nothing except chain stores, so I have to look in the city.

Can anybody point me to some good stores/has anybody bought furniture from somewhere that you can recommend?

Price is not really an issue as I AM expecting to buy something that's quality made and will last a long time; however, I don't want to spend a fortune. I figure between 2-3000 dollars for either a wicked sectional or a sofa/loveseat combo.

Help is much appreciated.

Try the Lazy Boy (yes, I know they spell it different) outlet in Markham. You can even custom order from there.

Great prices, killer sofas.

I love mine.

Yeah I don't think it's a bad idea by any means...but the point is I already have done that, and they all offer pretty much the same selection - which isn't much. :/

Jenny! Do a stroll down Leslieville (Queen + Broadview to Queen +Leslie and King East (Sherbourne to Parliament) There are so many unique furniture stores some with moderate pricing and payment plans.

Oh yes! Good idea.

Man, I love furniture shopping...even just browsing. Sure sign of old age, lol.

All I could think about last week was getting home from school so I could paint.

If you'd get your ass to our house to see Sebbers, I'd take you to one of the multitude of stores down here...

Good furniture and lots of funky stuff...

Decorium (North York)

http://www.decorium.com/

I remember being stuck in that building for hours, hating my life about a decade ago when i had to tag along with my parents during all their furniture shopping cause i was too young to stay home alone.

funny how life goes full circle.

Oh I hear ya. I still need to finish painting my bathroom and kitchen. I'm such a procrastinater!

eq3 and structube are good stores to check out for modern stuff...I would also recommend...

InStyle furniture (got my nesting tables):

www.instylehome.ca

Urban Barn (got my lounging table):

www.urbanbarn.com

Casalife Furniture:

www.casalife.com

And give Homesense (go to a larger store too) a try as well. Surprisingly they have some nice one of a kind sofas and a lot of furniture for a reasonable price. The down side is that the stuff seem to go quickly (i.e. if you see it and you like it, but sleep on it...it's probably gone the next day). I ended up getting my accent chairs for $170 each. You can put a hold on their merchandise as well. I ended up getting my sofa from Bad Boy because I really liked the sofa and got it for a good price!

Happy shopping Jenny and good luck!

Go anywhere but a Punjabi or Buddy-Addi furniture store. All of them lead a ridiculous business and are thieves in the living daylight.

Go to a flagship Bay store, downtown Toronto should do it. The furniture dept at a flag ship Bay store have exclusive stuff that other Bay stores don't have. You can even negotiate your price down (way down lol).

We got a 2 and a 3 place full leather Lind sofas for 4.5G (down from 6G+Tx). The quality is amazing.

No offense but awful suggestions.

I just spent bought a bunch of stuff from this place. Cool, modern, great stuff. Would have bought more but didn't want my whole place to look like their showroom.

There store is at Queen and Shaw and they feature a lot of the Gus Modern line.
