Posted by lenazi on Oct-15-2009 06:09:

That remix is actually quite good, still like it.

Smiling Frog

Chunky drums, funky bass-line, cool ass little bubbling synth and a nice hook must be the reason why I got this on vinyl in the first place.

Must be the reason why I'm king of my castle
Must be the reason why I'm freeing my trapped soul
Must be the reason why I'm king of my castle
Must be a reason why I'm making examples of you
Ahum,

Rasmus Faber feat Dyanna Fearon - Give it to Me (Wamdue Project Dub Mix), imo

Posted by montana on Oct-15-2009 07:36:

that isn't the original. it's the roy malone remix, the original sounds more like chris brann's output at the time.

this is how the original sounds:

armin's remix is good but then again it sounds like what olav basoski would have done with it have he done a remix.

yeah he did alot of funky house tracks back in the day that is way better then the shit he puts out now.

Here's a similar track with a vocal that doesn't blow ass.

Wamdue Project - King of My Castle (Sander Van Doorn DUB Mix)

That chicks voice is just irritating. The track has been well overplayed to be very enjoyable for me anymore. Ask me again in 5 years

Posted by stev on Oct-15-2009 13:30:

either of these songs would sound great with a death metal mashup.

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Oct-15-2009 13:33:

Was all about Wamdue Project - Where Do We Go (Armand Van Helden mix) back in the day... also I dig the Armin rmx of the song, it's certainly much better than the rubbish he puts out today.

The Armin remix was a shock to me because I thought that it was one of the 2008 remixes...

yep this is good too. Howells and Burridge were bumping this back in the early part of this decade. But king of my castle was one of the biggest 90s house records. It is the 3rd best selling strictly rhythm record The first is I like to move it By Erick Morillo, second is the highest state of consciousness by josh wink and the third one is this
Must be a reason why it got 2 million hits on youtube

I still play that Kenny Hawkes today and it fits in quite well.

Sanders mix of "King of my Castle" is my favorite of that song. Not to mention the girl singing it has some very nice DSL's.

this chick is not nearly as hot as the music video's producers wish that she were

Gaelle wasn't able to capitalize on that success, however, because the label hired a "buxom Argentinian lady" to pretend to be the song's vocalist. "They put her in the video and on tour and she was lip-synching and everything," says Gaelle. "That happens so much in the dance world, like in the case of Martha Wash and C&C Music Factory. If the label doesn't believe what you look like is what people want to see, then they'll put out what they believe you should look like."

Needless to say, the young singer was heartbroken. She severed ties with Brann, enlisted ASCAP to track down her royalties, and formed a musical bond with keyboard player Eric Stamile. They clicked despite their contrasting upbringings: Stamile is Italian and a diehard Duran Duran and Skinny Puppy fan, while Gaelle idolized Patti LaBelle as a child and listened to hip-hop, house and Haitian music.
