Damian Lazarus - Memory Box / Spinnin' [Get Physical]

Memory Box / Spinnin' are two tracks from Damian Lazarus's 'Smoke The Monster Out' LP. While the album versions were quite friendly for the ears, the updated remixes are perfect for the feet. Damian has morphed his demented vocal cut 'Memory Box' into a larger dance floor burner, adding bigger beats and techno elements. On the flip, the legendary Sasha joins Get Physical with an incredible remix of 'Spinnin' which is full of stripped-back rhythms and twisted vocal manipulations.

Really liked what Damian did on memory box. Love the job Sasha did on vocals as well.

i'm a big fan of smoke the monster out album but I dont like memory box. Its the only song that I dislike. Hoping the remixes are better...but really its the vocal in the original that irritated me

Actually dig Sasha's mix... a bit uninspired I think, but still nice.

Memory Box is pretty good as well. Still love that whole album.

Sasha's remix is cool but it's basically just for that kind of DJ. Vocal work is cool.

I always thought the vocals in Memory Box were pretty fucking crap, but his remix is pretty damn floor friendly, been hearing him play it a lot.

Never really liked the vocals either, but they're a lot less annoying in this mix. I'd still go for a dub if there was one.

The vocals in the original of "Memory Box" are absolute horseshit, but I'll withhold judgement of this mix til I listen to it at home later.

i would definitely cut off the vocals on memory box and chop them up and twist them a little bit.

that remix of sasha reminds me of his older productions for some reason.

spent some time w/ the samples. I'm down with both tracks. Quite surprised with the direction that Damian took on his mix. Can't think of any previous tracks of his that sound like that. Sasha's mix is above average for me
