Christopher Lawrence at Ruby Skye on Sat Oct 24th

Heads up all you trance lovers in the Bay area, Christopher Lawrence is back in town on Saturday October 24th. Wooooot!

I caught him at Burning Man and he was f**king incredible, possibly the best set I've ever heard from him. It was deep and nasty and he rocked it out. A few of us have been trying to track down an MP3 of his set from Opulent Temple, if anyone has a copy, PLEASE PM me. I know there's some regular Burners on this board, so any help would be appreciated.

It's gonna be off the hook at Ruby Skye when he plays on the 24th.

Gonna close my eyes and pretend I'm back on the Playa.

OMG! Just saw this. I'm torn, me and my gals are driving out to Vegas to see Christopher this weekend, but I really wanna see him in San Francisco as well.

Which should I choose? Or both??? HELP!

sfo > las

plus c law will be stopping by to visit j00f at 1015 later that night, possible tagteam set...

Cool...I might swing by 1015 after C.Lawrence's set. How much is the entrance fee to get in 1015 that late? IS it any cheaper?

Someone forwarded this to me, sorry to say, but not true, Christopher won't be going to 1015 after his set at Ruby Skye.

Christopher is visiting family on Sunday morning up in Santa Rosa, so it's back to the hotel for an early(?) night after his set at Ruby Skye.

John and Christopher are great friends and if they're ever booked together, I know they'd love to do a tag team, but not this weekend.

Thanks,
Sara

are you his mommy?

Monster Media manages Christopher. We were hoping that Christopher would have time to visit John Fleming at 1015 but unfortunately not on this night per Christopher's schedule and his plans for the next day. I was just made aware of this myself tonight so I apologize to anyone that I had spoken to regarding visiting JOOF after his set. Tag teaming is not going to happen , but I'm sure the rumors sparked some excitement.

Thats all that needs to be said regarding this moving forward.

Christopher was awesome in Vegas last weekend, my Mom's in SF so might drive up and double up on seeing her and my #1 Dj. Is there a guest list? That would certainly sweeten the deal.

pretty big imo. skills, spundae, taj/1015, torq and now liquid sun do a good job of bringing the bigger names and lesser known but great DJs. imo the lesser known djs have impressed more.

The lesser known DJs always have the chance to impress more because you haven't heard them before. When you hear a lot of the same DJs over and over again, some people grow tired of them (whether they realize it or not...they just stop caring).

This goes for most people. It's also how people get burnt out by the scene until a new fresh round of DJs start hitting the circuit. Sure, a DJ will trickle in very once in awhile, but then from there there's always a period every once in awhile where a whole new slew of DJs come into the picture.

It's been a long, long time for trance. Think about it, and Djs like Tiesto, Armin, PvD (though maybe a little earlier for him), Ferry, etc...they all became well known around the same period. late 90s, early 2000s.

Other than you had tricklers come in and got a fanbase like Markus, maybe SvD, etc.

I think what we're seeing is a whole new crop of trance DJs pop-up int he last year or two and getting notice in the US (Menno, Jon O'Bir, JOC, Andy Moor. maybe SvD could be tied into this, Cosmic Gate maybe, etc -- none have Armin/Ferry/etc status yet, but def seeing a fanbase build for them). And there's some others that we are aware of and I could see the masses getting into in the future.

When those DJs get big, I am sure if you like them now after a few years you'll be just as tired as them too.

thanks dave, I think your dead on here.

the only trance dj that continues to impress me is christopher lawrence. Ive been following him for a long time and he keeps getting better.

the other trance djs I used to like did seem to stop caring and starting putting these generic sets together trying to please as many different people as they could.

when they did that, they lost their "sound". I guess that's why the newer djs sound better, cos their sound is still a bit pure.

im already tired of all those djs... cept for ferry. menno is cool but last time i just wanted to go back to the starlight room for more techno hehe still love trance though esp prog and neo def looking forward to joof, ferry, tobar, ottaviani and m.i.k.e.!!!!

I used to like ferry but his sets have gone downhill over the past few years. theres no real structure to his sets anymore, just a mishmash of songs thrown together, not unlike armin. it's a shame cos I used to like ferry alot.
