I vomits everytime i hear this fart of a trancetrack. It's like an filthy unwashed arse. Ferry Corsten really made a disgrace of himself, what the hell whas he thinking?

Absolutely one the the worst trancetracks ever made!

Posted by montana on Oct-16-2009 08:35:

yeah and all of that except it's just stupendous, it's mind-numbingly simple and it works really well. it's really easy to shit on since it's ferry corsten's, the main suspect of who ruined trance, first massive hit.

that being said, there is a number of good remixes of this. commies, lucien foorts, ferry's own 5am mix and picotto's remix.

I think pre 2005 pretty much everything he did was excellent, even the stuff he produces now is better than most of the other tracks out there.

System F - Out of the Blue imo is a very good tune! Overplayed yes, but on the whole a very solid track.

listening to it today i barf a little and im embarrassed i loved it in 99. whatever.

^Same...I didn't love it but enjoyed it enough to buy it. Need to put it for sale.

The main suspect? The fuck is wrong with you, Ferry has been one of the rare trance producers/DJs who has held any sort of respect amongst the majority of current and/or previous trance listeners

Ferry created the blueprint for unicorn trance with Out Of The Blue which every single trance producer then tried to imitate. So yes, he's the main suspect despite the semi-decent stuff he's made since.

Posted by montana on Oct-17-2009 09:43:

yeah, main suspect, that was meant as a joke, i forgot to put it in quotation marks. it's in relation to what ishkur put in his guide, i don't personally think ferry himself ruined trance. he did help make it into what it is today.

But then again Oakey was the first to start the 'stadium / arena' era in trance and hammer so-called epic trance, which was without a doubt a departure from classic German sound. There are too many DJs to blame for the fall from grace of the genre just to pick one of them and call him 'the main suspect'.

You're taking this a bit too seriously.

the main "supsect" was the supersaw which i think roland released in 98?

Posted by chrisday on Oct-17-2009 23:11:

The main reason was none of the above mentioned. Blaming it on particular djs is ridiculous.

Imo the reason is the lack of creativity and laziness both contributing to the shit quality of tracks most of the producers churn out these days.

Yeah, because before 1998 nobody had ever made a bad trance record.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Oct-18-2009 01:31:

There's nothing wrong with the supersaw itself, it's the fault of the producers for beating the sound to death and using it as the centerpiece of rigid, predictable arrangements.

Posted by keithos27 on Oct-18-2009 03:01:

fyi. there's a slew of remixes set for release soon, including one done by tiesto.

Posted by Omega_Blue on Oct-18-2009 03:06:

i've never liked this track, and i used to love ferry corsten. i think maybe if i listened to trance back in 1998 or whatever i may have felt differently about it- it's just too cheesy imo.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Oct-18-2009 14:54:

The melody does have a bit of a Neverending Story feel to it, I think.

Posted by GoSpeedGo! on Oct-18-2009 17:21:

It may be cheesy as all hell but I love it. Total guilty pleasure of mine.
