all right, i hate the whole conspiracy theory shit and i know there are a lot of very serious people on this forum with raging hormones who are just waiting to pounce on someone who asks a dumb question but...

which is true color:

if 2nd, than why do many amateur astronomer captures make the planet look no where near as red as many previous nasa photos, in fact almost brown with a blue-ish hue?

Mars has an atmosphere. it's very tiny and VERY thin; but enough to make pics from space appear different from pics on the ground.

yea the color we see changes on any given day, depending on atmospheric changes.
