Magadansky - An Opium Of Blood / A Divine Chant [Goa Trance]

Hi, finally! Here I present you part 3 and part 5 of the Samothrace Mysteries series dedicated to the mystery of the ancient isle of Samothrace. The series are split into 6 parts, this thread is for the 3rd and 5th part.

Samothrace Mysteries - A Divine Chant part 3

1. Dynamix - The Rezistor
2. Ayahusca - New Moon
3. Shakta - Foxglove
4. Triponas - Awanna
5. California Sunshine - Summer 89 (RemiX)
6. Etnica - History
7. Chi A.D. - C.12
8. Encens - Spiritual Transgression
9. Space Tribe - The Great Spirit (Hallucinogenic Remix)
10. Space Tribe - In The Hands Of The Shaman
11. Pleiadians - Boarding Pass To Balangan
12. N.D.M.A. - Vitan
13. California Sunshine - Futuro

All the visitors are gathered in half circle around the priest. The priest is naked, bearing only a red belt and a forehead adornment proving his status among the others. His speech dedicated to the Gods starts slowly, evolves into holy words spoken in unknown language but understood by everyone. The sun starts to go down and he shows the need of a sacrifice. A joyful cry echoes in the forest...

The priest gives to the noble visitors a phiale and they fill it with the blood of the freshly killed animal. Strength, rejoice, enthusiasm spreads around the crowd while through their blood veins, the divine substance in the bull's blood takes them one step closer to their guardians. The sundown gives the start for the feast.

Seeing as you also have issues with mixdepot, I think it's your computer/browser that is to blame

Downloading now, and hope to do my new psy mix by the end of the week

Just had a listen to Part 3, some great old Goa stuff in here, even though it doesnt sound old or flat like a lot of old Goa.

What remix of Vitan is playing at 1h01m? Couldnt find it and got pissed off at youtube samples loading slowly

Posted by netroM on Oct-20-2009 03:30:

@THE_Chris: Discogs doesn't say anything about any remixes of it that I'm aware of

Man, these mixes were well worth the wait, one a fusion of trance and goa, the other banging goatrance from start to finish
I must say I enjoyed mix 5 of the two the most, but then again, this is a series of mixes.
Eagerly awaiting the 2nd and 4th part (don't rush it though, take your time and make them as good or better than the others) and hopefully more to come

Thanks for the feedback! I don't know any remixes of Vitan as well. I got that version from the Pulse 2 compilation http://www.discogs.com/Various-Puls...r/release/99396 and its labeled only "Vitan" there.

Thanks for listening! The two mixes here are quite different in mood, one is banging, darker while the other is much more relaxed and trancey. Glad you liked them both! The two final parts are almost ready and they are also quite different from the rest, still old school ones ofc. Cheers

Thanks Thats been on my Discogs wantlist for ages. Guess I'll actually be buying it now.

There are a few (modern and bad) remixes of Vitan on Youtube.

No problem J! Craft a mix already, I want to hear what comes out of your sleeve at the moment.

Chris, I haven't heard any modern remixes of Vitan anywhere. The original is very nice and as I see it was released on various places. The Pulse compilations are one of the most well known compilation series and pretty much they sum a lot of the best goa trance there is during the later 90s.

haha. Only thing I have mixed lately is a 30 mins mini-mix for a buddy who is putting together a DVD of Motion Notion. I might get around to getting a mix together this weekend if I'm not to busy, trust me I want to get something together, been a few months for me..

Just finnished part 3. It seems to me that you tried this time to combine the Goa feeling with some "classic" Trance. At least it sounds like it. I just have one word to describe it: Awesome!

No, really, it never gets boring, a set with a very nice flow and great potential to put me into Trance on the dance floor. Thank you very much for this!

Thanks! This was the primer idea as well, to put you into Trance, glad it worked!

Had a listen to both of these, and this is no reflection on you Mags, but Goa just really doesn't do anything for me.

The mixing and flow were fine, but I just can't seem to get into this style of music, same as I find with DnB.

Still good mixes, though I don't know if my opinion holds any weight given the above, lol!

Posted by Magadansky on Oct-26-2009 18:06:

Thanks for listening anyway. You heard both of them despite not being a fan of goa which is really thankful by my regard. Cheers!

Just one bump before I post the final two parts next week!
