Any crazy computer parts store in LA area?

Michelle's laptop's power supply died and I need a new one.

Yeah I can order one online, but trying to find out if there's any type of crazy computer parts store that has all kinds of random parts (like AC Adapters) where I might be lucky to find one if I went and looked...

...basically just trying to get one ASAP and not deal with waiting on a dliver.y

Ametron or Fry's?

You should check out the brand and see if they have a service repair center. People would go in and buy random parts\power adapter at this one laptop\warranty service shop at use to work at.You get better prices online and most likely pay more at any service center, just for the part.

I either have the choice of ordering online and waiting for the shipment while Michelle goes insane w/o being able to check her blogs, internet, etc etc for a few days...yeah, you come here and have fun with that...lolz.

If I can find it around here and have to pay a few more buucks than I would online, I am willing to do that than deal with that. Anyhow, my AC adapter is actually only $5 more from the manufacturer than the cheapest 3rd party compatible AC Adapter that I can find.

Was kinda surprised. remember when I ordered two of them a couple years ago when she first got the laptop (always get extra PSes!) and they were like $90 each through HP. Right now, they are only $40 Found one 3rd party at $30, but out of stock. Every other 3rd-party PS is $35. With that difference, I'll just get a first-party one through HP (or amazon.com, which has it at $40 too).

Anyhow...yeah, I'd still be willing to pay a bit more if I can go pick one up somewhere just I don't have to deal with the effects of not having one for a few days. I shall see if I can find a HP repair center around.

Why not 'borrow' a laptop from bestbuy or officedepo.

Frys would be my first suggestion, as they have more locations.
Around here (Torrance) there is PC Mall on 190th St. and PC Warehouse on Carson St.

Can you walk into PCMall/PCWarehouse or pick up locally?

I know where they are....Michelle works near it all.

Yes, PC Mall is like a CompUSA and PC Warehouse is smaller; they both are normal stores. A power supply is such a generic item; have you tried Best Buy?

fry's doesn't sell crazy computer parts. they sell shitty computer parts.

Slip her a few roofies and order the parts online. By the time she wakes up, the parts will have arrived. Perfect solution.
