To Saturn and Back [TECHY/DUBBY-SPACEHOUSE]

This is my first releasable mix after finally getting my new setup. I've been out of the scene for a few years and finally coming back (after a brief stint as a skydiver and BASE jumper) I was able to jump back into it without a hiccup.

The Gear:
Xone:4D
Technics 1200mk2 (x2) w/ Ortofon Concord Digitrack Carts
Traktor Scratch Pro

The Story:
A mix inspired by dreams of space travel, this set should transport you through the depths of space on a planetary sojourn.

Herein lie robotic percussion, deep space riffs and dubby, bouncy grooves to keep you moving as you follow my dream of traveling to Saturn and returning to Earth.

This set is something I haven't heard in a while. It didn't feel like a showcase of a record label. The vibe from it was great. You began playing a bit more bigger than you used to 3yrs ago which is good. Change is good. The set starts off with a consistent chugging groove and then about 20min you bring in some sounds that I makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Then as the set goes on you get a bit more proggy in your house. The turning point happens after the da hool track where the set goes into this wicked techno. Something that was exactly my
bucket of tea

The mixing was flawless, sound quality top notch. Great set dude.

Thanks Stan! Yea I was going for a kind of deeper prog but the vibe is maintained through some broody tracks like the massive techno sounds coming from Deepgroove- Spike.

It was a lot of fun and I'm having a blast with Vinyl!

What's not working? Both links are working from 3 different computers for me and I've tried on 2 separate networks (Mac and PC).

What's the error? Have you tried right-clicking and hitting "save as" for the MP3 file? Alternatively you could try the same for the ZIP file I have linked there.

Also, just regularly clicking the link should work just fine too.

Downloading now!

I've been wanting to do a spacey/dark-themed mix too. I think that's gonna be my new project.

Awesome! Let me know what you think

And if it's not spacey or dark enough, you might try my latest mix:

I'm a sucker for anything space-themed. There definitely was that here, although it felt more like a deep under-water vibe than a space vibe. Maybe somewhere under Enceladas?

Actually, I was quite reminded of a lot of the dark prog you tended to hear earlier in the decade, which I always enjoyed. Nice to hear that genre hasn't completely disappeared, even if it sometimes gets called something else.

Thanks for the review...I know what you mean about the dark prog...it's kind of a theme I gravitate towards and do my best to uphold when I can.
