ed belfour is washed up.... and he's mentally unstable... wtf... the leafs are dumb...

ed belfour was good when he won a cup with the hawks. (he had dominik hasek as his BACKUP back then... that's nuts.)

they offered holik 8 million+ per year?? are they insane?? urgh... the leafs make me so angry during the offseason. pat quinn should be fired as GM...

well... all the best to cujo. i hope he finds success in detroit. i hope he wins a cup there...... right after toronto wins at least one.... hopefully 10 or 20, =P.

I'm so glad that cujo left the leafs. I hope finally that quinn and the other cheap fucks controlling the team will realize that they have to start spending if they wan't to win.Even if cujo was to sign with the leafs, they still woul'dnt of had a chance to win the cup with the players that they have now.

peace,
Dave

agreed... they've got to bring in a GM that actually has a clue aboutmaking trades/signing players in the off season... quinn is too senile to be play 2 roles...

Idea

Right well in my opinion i think he was VEry stupid to what he had said .. about leaving the Leafs.. for the devils.. so he could win the Stanley cup..

Like.. the guy on the radio said.. "Like if he was making the team make it win in the first place"

i'm sorry.. but in my opinion Cujo is trying to make him self ALL that and spectacular. .to what he real is not..
TRUE he is a good player.. but he Shouldnt Brag about it: thats just TOTALY childish let alone.. being professional..
If he thinks he's all that.. all Great.. then why wont he try to encourage the team ... why wont he realize that in under 10 years.. he's gona be history.. cuz he's not gona be that great..

Big woooptidue that he was on the leafs for 4 years.. and they have not won the Stanley cup.. IT takes time and patience..

Another quote from the radio "theres something you can say.. but other things you only think.. but dont say out loud"
^^^ that is Very true.. because.. some words can get you in a little bit of Shites

I am sad that he has left.. I wish he could of stayed on the team cuz he was a great player..

But to what he said.. Im sort glad he left.. and I really do hope that the next Season.. that Leafs will push themselves harder.. to wining the cup.. because.. one.. they will deserver it.. two.. they can intelligently show with time.. comes good quality..

i dont think cujo is trying to make himself all high and mighty... i dont thin he's got that kind of personality... i think he just wants to win the cup, and with leafs going in the wrong direction, i think he made a right move by going to the red wings... leafs are a long way from even reaching the finals... they're just fooling themselves by keeping the teams the way it is right now and not adding depth to the roster...

But at least he could of not had to say it out loud...
like i agree with you.. that he might of not been trying to make him self all high and mighty.. but at a frist imprestion thats waht you get

But still i dont think he should of said it out loud.. i'm sorry..

the other part with how the actual teams are.. i cant realy argue that for i dont know much of the history latley of ither team..

Posted by mute79 on Jul-03-2002 02:57:

i think he should've said it out loud... i mean, he spent 3 years of his life playing for a team that had changed their lineup for the worse and that had not improved at all!! he was pissed cuz he thought the leafs were serious about winning, since obviously quinn isn't, he did the right thing and bitched at him... also i think cujo has a personal issue with quinn, for taking him out of world championship... leafs have got to grow some balls and make block buster trades... i'm sorry, but quinn is just sooo pathetic, ugh!

Sad WTF!!!

CUJO is off to DETROIT!?!?!?

As if I didn't hate them enough as it is...

*sigh* ... this is all just a game of politics...I personally don't care, I just want to see the Leafs win the Cup.

so true, he definetly is unstable he is 37 and they signed him for 2 years, he can be hot and cold so we'll just wait and see what happens

yeah but I still hate hasek he is such a faker and can be a big cry baby sometimes

yeah he is definetly overdue, he is semiretarded sometimes, but he is better than nothing I guess, what pisses me off is that the gave Sundin a shit loads of money, but he can be such a piss poor player sometimes. Still can't believe they could not get Joseph to sign though.

yeah well I don't think so, Detroit is an old beat up team, Scoty Bowman is gone too, and it's hard to win lord stanleys cup back to back although Detroit has done it before. I think Joseph made a mistake, hope Toronto fans boooo him when he comes in a trip down to ACC to play the leafs.

well shelling out shit loads of money won't always solve it, take a look at Rangers in last 2 years they signed shit loads of players with a high payroll and they have not even made it to the playoffs, we need a smart GM not, and Pat Quin is definetly not the right person for the job, can't believe they signed him to a multi year contract earlier this year!

yeah well there have been players in the leage real good players that have never even won a cup, even though they deserved it, I guess you have to have the luck on your side!

The problem is that Quinn is unwilling to make *any* big moves on the trade front to get us the players necessary to make a big push for the Cup...

I still get pissed off when I think about the whole Lindros situation...the Leafs would have had to give up what? 1 lanky centre who's spending his spare time in St. John's right now and 1 defenceman (Kaberle) that Quinn always said he thought was approximately equal to the one that was traded off to Phoenix (Markov) for the anemic Reichel.

I look at teams like the New York Rangers and it frankly pisses me off, all of those new players were within the reach of the Leafs (LINDROS, BURE, Kasparitus, Holik, and son on) if they'd just been willing to spend a little more money.

I know there was some criticism up above of the Rangers but they're really starting to gel now...last year they almost made the playoffs and IMHO, would have been the favourites coming out of the East if they had, they were on an absolute tear at the end. If they start of decently this year and get a guy to replace the horrific Richter (think Dafoe) they could easily be the best team in the Eastern Conference next year or at least up there with Philly.

Cujo made his decision because he wanted to win a cup...I was really sad to see him leave as he's been my favourite goalie since he was stopping pucks in Edmonton (anyone else remember that amazing save during the 97-98 'offs where he was knocked down out behind the net, got up, sprinted back to the crease, slid across the blue ice with his stick extended and *made the save*?) but I can respect his choice...even if it was leaving TO for the hated Wings...

Quinn needs to start making trades to get the blue and white back in serious contention, until he does no big name free agents are going to be willing to sign with us (Witness failures to acquire Holik, GUERIN, and Kasparitus already!)

i wouldn't say luck... i'd say their judgement... all of these players ultimately want to win a cup once in their careers, so when they sign with clubs, they sign for a team that they think has the best chance of winning... so i completely support cujo for leaving... leafs are on the downturn... they're going to go into rebuilding in a year or 2, so we have to wait at least another 5-6 years for a contending team... *sigh*

agreed, but now they signed kasparitis and got a new coach, pat burns, you'll see them in finals this year for sure...

erhm... correction to my last post...

belfour was good when he WENT to the cup with the hawks... he never won one there... i wrote that post after 13hrs of work in the sun... me so tired....

Posted by Sarcoman on Jul-05-2002 03:48:

I dont really understand why Cujo left the Leafs. I dont mind that he did, cause im a huge Red Wing fan, but dont understand his reasons. I think the leafs, if he had signed with Tdot, would have been a strong contender next year. With Cujo, other free agents would have been wooed by toronto's offers. Guerin, for ex, may have looked at Tdot as a more viable option than Dallas.

Either way, I hope Belfour works out for the Leafs. The only way I will ever see a Red Wing game is if they meet in the Cup final. Since Steve Yzerman is my favourite player, I hope they meet soon.
