As far as I know, you usually procure the services of a manager once you've *already* established a career. Managers manage your existing career, they don't create one for you - that's marketing's job.

Like so many others before you, you're attempting to circumvent that aspect called "talent" with the route you're taking. Pay close attention, now - it actually goes like this:

quote:
First you get the talent.

Then you get the manager.

Then you get the woman.

I sincerely hope this has been enlightening for you as it has for me.

I mean jealous with my photo, which abercrombie always put it on my thread!

hahaha.....

I have talent, but yes... Im weak in the marketing for promoting my self! so I need manager that can find market for me! then I got woman I want!!! hehehe.................

I actually think Geoff could be a good manager...

Maybe he is DJing to get the attention of the woman he secretly loves... so many great pieces of work have been created to proclaim love to a specific woman...

He could be a modern day love story... the DJ who played for love...

Fuck I'm bored

Instead of slamming the kid, why not tell him how to achieve success since everyone seems to know better?

Want to make it as a dj? learn how to mix... educated yourself on music and forge your own style. Create a brand out of yourself, make tracks. get as many gigs as u can.

of course its more complicated than that...but thats a start

Besides having talent and an individual style...
1) One must learn how to represent themself before having someone else represent them. Remember image and first impressions can be everything.
2) Get out in the clubs, attend industry nights, schmooze, make connections, build networks... KISS ASS.
3) Develop a support group. People that are going to attend your gigs. It is important to show that you can bring in a crowd. This goes way beyond randomly adding and messaging people on facebook.
4) Change your DJ name

You can be the most talented person in the city but if you don't have the right network of people around you, you will probably go no where.
