PCR keyboard controller <- anybody has one?

Anybody here has a Roland/Edirol PCR controller like the PCR-800 which I am interested in. Here are my questions:

1- can you assign the sliders and knobs using "MIDI learn" which alot of VSTi's have or do you have to set up the PCR using the editor that comes with it?

If the PCR works with MIDI learn, do you still also have to use the editor.. how does that work in practice cause the manual doesn't even mention midi learn?!

2- if you set your PCR controller in split mode.. will the DUAL/SPLIT button be blinking all the time or what.. isn't it annoying to have a button constantly blinking when you're making music in split mode? The manual says that to have your keyboard in split mode, you need to press the DUAL/SPLIT mode several times to make it blink (as opposed to dual mode where it will be lit).. does that mean the DUAL/SPLIT button will be blinking constantly when you want to use your keyboard in split mode or how is that?
