Liquid D&B reccomendations

Hi guys,

I recently heard a liquid d&b/deep d&b set from a DJ called Deep Z and I really enjoyed it. Hadn't heard that sound before and it really appealed to me. I mean after listening to so much of other stuff, that set just hit the spot. It was just right. And its after a long time that something has really appealed to me like this as far as music is concerned. It was very atmospheric, sort of deep, I would like to get to listen to some more liquid D&B stuff and was wondering if you all had any suggestions and recommendations for me. As in whether it be sets or singles or even albums or producers producers.

Also, what are your all time favorite liquid/deep d&b tracks?
Any essentials I should check out?

To give you an idea or feel of what I enjoyed on that set, I have pasted a track list from a set which I absolutely loved! I hope you can direct me to such music and also give me your recommendations.

01 - J-Laze - Naomiz Tune [Expressions]
02 - Gen - Rising [Fokuz]
03 - Gen - Catcha [Fokuz]
04 - Gen - Reactor [Fokuz]

12 - Cutworks - Cybra [Fokuz]

p.s: I am in no way promoting this dj or his music. so please dont troll. serious and honest responses please.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there.

Thank you for your reccomendation. I checked out that set. And although its sounds awesome, it's not the sound and feel I am looking for.

But check out the following tracks. They should give you an idea of the sound and feel I was looking for. All of them are great.

Cutworks - Cybra

Gen - Reactor

Something along those lines would be great. I mean I would love to explore sounds like these with similar vibes and feel.

LTJ Bukem/MC Conrad

also, check out stuff by Deep Blue. "Metropolitan Chic" is an awesome album, and the mix he did for Knowledge magazine is also full of this kind of stuff.

And I'd suggest his fabriclive mix from early this year as a good example of his skills.

let me recommend you something!

Posted by benni on Nov-01-2009 10:57:

basicly what you are looking for is LTJ Bukem, if you do a little research on him, you will find about everything you need

Posted by benni on Nov-01-2009 11:23:

and here are others that are perhaps a little less athmospheric and more funky and jazzy, yet liquid

:P

Camo & Krooked
Logistics
B-Complex
London Elektricity
High Contrast

No huge underground producers, but i love them.

Since when did LTJ Bukem make liquid funk?

what do you consider him to make?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Nov-01-2009 23:28:

Atmospheric/jazzy drum 'n bass. Even the stuff he played on his FabricLive disc is hardly any different to what he was playing 10+ years ago, before "liquid funk" existed.
