So, my second track from the Fanboyism-series. This time it´s all about one of my favorites from 2007; Andy Blueman- Nyctalopia. Feedback are appreciated

Great uplifting feel on this track!!!
A couple little critiques:

On the breakdown, some synth hits with delay, drum hits, or atmospheric/percussive sounds would be cool to keep the momentum going. besides that, breakdown is great.

take a good look at your offbeat high hats. it sounds to me like they are rushing the beat a little bit. you have this nice chugging bassline that really grooves, and if the hats don't match up, it gives it a sense of anxiety that you don't want. or maybe you do want, but I assume you'd rather not have that feeling.


one more thing, im not sure if it's soundcloud, but the mix is very distorted, when the kick comes in its very crunchy and ruins the feel of the mix. see if thats anything you can control.

Thanks for the feedback. Will check out the things you mentioned. Just a clarification about the distortion. The distortion and the volume-problems originate from the fact that the master volume was way to high when i rendered it. It´s fixed now. Thanks again for listening

I definitely noticed that too, I don't think soundcloud does that unless maybe it was a low quality mp3 that you uploaded? It's probably just some EQ crowding in the low end, I'm sure it's an easy fix with some more processing because your other tracks have sounded cleaner than this. I also agree with fleshing out the breakdown somewhat with some more pad layers and FX.

Anyway, underneath all that you can hear a great track, cool bassline although I think a slightly slower BPM would actually enhance it as it comes off slightly psy at this speed (maybe thats just me). I LOVED this track (Onova Remix ftw), definitely the biggest melody of '07 and I mostly like what you did with it apart from certain notes which went up a little too high (almost into hardstyle realm lol). Love the teaser melody you use in the buildup, gives enough hints without ruining the surprise. Work on that distortion issue, slow it down a little (imho) and you'll have a decent remix on your hands!

that happens to me sometimes too.

i like it, hi's, mids need a boost but overall nice track, aggree about kick, sounds a bit distorted, love melodic line after break...
