While 13 states permit medical use of marijuana, only Rhode Island and New Mexico have similar dispensary provisions, both of which were adopted by the states� legislatures. Maine�s original medical marijuana law was passed in 1999.

If you guys didn't see... they also recently passed legislation that the Feds can't bust people who have legal pot in their state.

Basically up til then even if it was legal in your state, people were getting busted by the Feds anyways.

They also just legalized it in a Colorado town, forget the name. But slowly but surly we are taking baby steps there. Heck, NYC you're allowed to carry small amounts and only get a fine if you're caught
