Phrakture: 15 ****in' Years Old!

I just bought "Fall In Line" in the Beatport sale, because it's a track I've been wanting for a little while without having a real use for in my DJing.

I was looking at his Last.fm page and this kid is literally 15 years old. Born in 1994. And he's signed and producing some stuff that shames people twice his age. Some of his stuff I can take or leave, but some of it is pretty incredible, and when I think of how my creative talents (namely writing) have improved since I was 15, this kid has got a bright, bright future.

Have a look on Youtube, most of his stuff is on there. Downright musical prodigy.

That's pretty impressive.

smells like children

un-fucking-believable

IDK why, but when kids younger than me are this good at stuff it just pisses me off. Like I could seriously strangle this bitch:

fuck you and your talent, probably wouldn't be so happy if you actually had to work hard to be that good. but no, since you're just naturally a piano goddess you're all smiles and happiness you bitch.

and she composes her own music! fuck, I accidentally threw in a parallel octave in the last chord progression I wrote for a class.

These "prodigy" kids do work very hard, they nearly always have parents or teachers pushing them to their limits. Mozart's dad was supposedly one of the best and most demanding music teachers in Europe. Can't be too quick to write off this stuff as all due to "innate talent." ;-)

This is pretty darn good. Let's see if he still calls himself "Phrakture" 10 years from now lol

edit: OMG I took piano lessons for ten years and I got to be pretty good, when I practiced a piece and whatnot, but I could NEVER write a note of music, certainly nothing like the 6 year old...

Definitely a name to keep in mind.

Posted by enydo on Nov-05-2009 03:55:

Yeah, thanks for bringing it up, definitely just went and grabbed a few of his tracks. 6 years younger than me and he makes my tinkering about look like someone with downs whacking their face on a keyboard.

*looks at his Myspace...

Yup he's 15 alright.

Very talented though, I'm jealous.

I recently remixed one of his tracks, I love this guy but I had no idea he was 15!

His latest track 'Iris' should be hitting the stores this month, that's a quality tune. This kid is going places.

Posted by TaylorR on Nov-05-2009 10:24:

i believe this kid is only 15 as well.....

his track insomniac got picked up by Remute and Remute's remix for that track is hella good.

BTW his remix of Flaming June is beastly... go download it now if you haven't.

Love his remix for Shiloh - Chords

Jake Williams was 16 when he had Son of a Gun signed.

Crucially, Son Of A Gun was shit. Although I'll grant you it did sell a lot of copies.

You take that back right now.

Remember I said I had some musical skeletons in my closet? That is one of them, and were I to do a personal classics mix it would certainly be included.

p.s my first post was a joke.

People often say, it was better back then, when only few had expensive production hardware, but hands down, without easy acessible software etc. we wouldn't have progidys like him.

I love how his music sounds for some reason. It gives off an ambient chill when it starts, but then transitions into something different (like a really excellent different). It reminds me of some old school DnB definitely.

i dont see whats so great about this stuff. its background music with no identity. its monoton, boring and lacking main elements, melodies, good trantitions etc. theres nothing really to remember in any of his songs and his effex are pretty weak, it could be whatever track. only in a world where most music has become shit something like this would get attention. though at 15 years only he has talent, thats no doubt. im guessing he wont last though, ive forgot both the tracks posted here already.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Nov-07-2009 18:05:

Yes, but you're a well known clown.

Posted by Pleasant on Nov-08-2009 04:41:

At 15 years old, this is impressive beyond words. palm, were you expecting this kid to revolutionize all of music or something?

His mixing stands out the most to me.
