Pinoy Power

This fight is over hyped. Arum is setting up Pacman vs Mayweather for next year. Both Pacman and Cotto are from Arum's stable. Cotto has nothing in his arsenal to stop Pacman. Manny is just too quick for Cotto and Cotto's power is not even close to Barrera and Marquez. With Cotto trying to drop to 145lbs, he'll have a hard time in the later rounds and we all know how he quit fighting Margarito last year.

However, it will still be a very interesting fight since Manny is a natural entertainer and loves to give his fans a show.

Pacman easily.

I have money on this fight, just to make it more intense.

My friend thinks Cotto is going to over power Pac, yeah right

does anyone know a filipino who is not rooting for pac? cotto pre- hands of stone margarito i would consider the favorite.

remember at 147lbs cotto has been in there with clottey, mosley and margarito.

at 147 lbs manny has only been in with oscar de la hoya and then the next weight below(jr welterweight 140) ricky hatton.

dont know about you guys but if pac had fought clottey, mosley and margarito people would be praising him and talking about how much of a monster he is for having beat 2 of those 3 and lost to a cheater....

why people dont seem to be doing that for cotto who knows....

reminds me of this USC is ranked above oregon fiasco.

usc lost to oregon AND washington(unranked)

Oregon lost to Boise st(undefeated,#6) and stanford #25.

pacquiao vs mayweather is the only compelling fight boxing has to offer at the moment. Sugar Shane is trying to squeeze one in with mayweather first, but everybody wants to see pacquiao vs mayweather...skip the warm ups, lets get to it already!!

*links poof*

I love sopcast!

Pacquiao beat Cotto silly after the first 2-3 rounds. How long Cotto lasted is admirable. Dude was like a punching bag for Pacquiao

Saw it online... Japanese link...lol

Overall decent fight, Manny whipped that ass!

Posted by Nerologic on Nov-15-2009 09:29:

Well

It was way better then the main event of the ufc card lol

Manny was just killing him, there were times when he just looked at the officials like "wtf just stop it already."

Mayweather vs Pacman next.

That will be a FIGHT!

I agree that Pacquiao vs Mayweather will be an awesome event. But Mayweather is just too scared to fight Manny. He's all talk an got it from his dad.

don't forget his Uncle too . Their argument is Mayweather's unbeaten record of 40-0. I'll give them that but look at the list of fighters he fought compared to Manny. Manny never ducked a challenge. Up to this point he's proven that he wants to fight the best, who ever it is.

Now I understand why they were making the Cotto fight look like a good fight.Going into this fight, Manny was still not a household name here in America and Arum wanted Manny to have more media coverage and they got it. With Manny being on the cover of Time Magazine (Asia Edition) a few weeks ago and most likely given the honor of "Sportsman of the Year" by SI, Manny is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

For the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight to happen, the purse needs to be split 50-50 which the Mayweather camp did not want to do ealier this year, arguing that Maywweather is the star, selling 1 million Pay per View subscription during his fight with Marquez.

I'm sure Arum will get a phone call this week from Mayweather's camp. There's a lot of money to be made on the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight and Mayweather is all about the $$$. Manny just want to fight! It will be stupid for boxing not to make that fight happen.

Oh btw ..... last Saturday's match with Cotto. The first half was a fight. The second half was just pure beating. That should have been stopped earlier. Manny admitted that Cotto had a heavy hand but as I expected, Manny's chin can take his best shot. Cotto said what every one says about Manny, "it's like fighting 10 guys" he could not see where the punches were coming from.

Now that he is a champion of a sanctioning body(as opposed to lineal ring championship) Manny will have mandatory #1 contender challenges to uphold. Here is the WBO ranking as of monday.
Champ MANNY PACQUIAO (Sup Champion) PHI
Interim
1 Joshua Clottey GHA
2 Miguel Cotto PR
3 Antonin Decaire (NABO) CAN

By the way Paul Williams held the WBO welterweight title until about a year ago and he was suddenly stripped(he didnt vacate) and then Cotto and Clottey fought for it, with Cotto winning a close decision.

Paul williams was #1 WBO ranked welterweight(147)as recently as this past July and he is currently being ranked as a junior middleweight(154 lbs).

He also gave Cheater Margarito a whooping, so if he heads back to 147, im sure WBO will rank Williams #1 due to him having been their champion on two occassions.

so pac better handle this mayweather fight soon, because otherwise the mandatory will come up. Im sure pac will vacate the title rather than have to face the WBO #1 contender(williams)

For those of you casual boxing fans, Paul Williams is about 6'2" and has an 82" wingspan, 2 inches longer than Muhammad Ali...
Manny is about 5'7" and has a 67" wingspan.

oh and mayweather hasnt been the star of any of the recent PPV...just look at who goes to watch those fights and forks over the $$$ for PPV, a bunch of brits and Latinos.
