too bad it sucks..at least the PC version. I'm boycotting for the first time evar.

Havent played CoD since the first one, and even that i could barely be bothered to finish it since i got bored with it quite fast.

I'm really bored of these types of games. It's the same shit over and over.

it kind of is, but most people buy it to play online, and all the geeks get the new one, then their friends and so on. No one really cares that its the same game just with new maps.

People still play single-player in these games?

What the hell is wrong with this world? The internet has been out for at least a few years by now!

What's your point? I still prefer SP over MP any day. Unless it's co-op SP, that shit is wicked.

i agree that co-op is awesome, but don't you feel lonely in SP? I mean I can only play games like GTA, and some RPGs

I play TF2 for MP. Games like this I buy first for SP then secondly for MP. Plus I played a tonne of Eve Online before so that satisfied my MP hunger :P

I just find shooting the automated bots in the SP campaigns boring as all hell.

I enjoy SP in other types of games, like adventure and RPG, and obviously sandbox games.

I also enjoy co-cop games though :P

I've heard that CODMW2 has been a disappointing letdown...I wasn't planning on getting it when it first came out anyway, but now I might use that money for something else and just buy it later down the road.

And not to spoil anything, please, but I need to ask: the trailer featured on YouTube's homepage showed a few clips that makes me think that you go in space for a little while??? Wtf?? Can anyone tell me if there are any space-related missions? Or was that a cut-scene I was seeing?

Has been somewhat of a letdown for me. Its cool and all but its just more of the same thing. Nothing really new over the first COD4. Its onto DragonAge Origins for me...

yeah i just picked it up along with the NVGS.

the NVGS are sweet.

The game itself isn't bad, but it suffers from the same thign halo does...which is mediocrity.

Just started playing the PC Version and have to say I am impressed, I am a nbig fan of Shooters like Bioshock, TF2, and Crysis, Over all I would rate it a 9.5. The graphics details have improved, the AI is superb. The only flaw that I can fault is that its to short. I read some spoilers and I guess I am halfways done and I feel like I just got started. Rio De Janiero Map and the Snow map are amazing in my opinion.

i've only played multiplayer and from the 2 hours i played it's exactly the same as the original modern warfare.

The maps are bigger, with more viable routes to get around. I'm a big fan of the maps so far.

The perks have been re-balanced, shaking up what's possible to run with during the game. I'm a big fan of the perk shake-up, but I'm hating painkiller to fuck right now.

The guns are more balanced, it's not just a giant MP5/M16 fest like it was in MW1.

The knifing mechanic has been tweaked so that you can no longer lunge in mid-air, which I was a fan of abusing in MW1.

No 3x Frags is a huge fix as well.

Overall I think it's a perfect sequel to a fantastic game. They didn't touch any of the mechanics that were already working fine, and they tweaked a lot of the bullshit from the first game to try and balance things out.

Not quite "exactly the same", but has some mild tweaks while the good stuff has been left alone.

Great game.

PC dedicated servers:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 1.1 patch
-Fixed exploits to allow dedicated servers
-Changed credits roll speed from 1.0 to .0005 to make game seem longer

yea but everyone got mw2 so you have no one to play with

I finally had time to play through it. Beat it in 1 sitting.
The single player was INCREDIBLY fun and epic, but criminally short!
The storyline was a bit off the rails and I think it would've been possible to save it by replacing the invasion by the entire of Russia with a coalition of Russian PMCs.
I liked the DC levels the best. The music was incredible for these scenes. Hans Zimmer!
The credits had Curtis Jackson (50 cent)as a voice actor. Who was he? I knew the black guy in the DC missions was the black guy from the movie Armageddon. He's actually a very good voice actor!
I played multiplayer for about a half hour, but the 360 controller is just aggravating. But as much shit as people want to give the PC version, I think that without cheaters or the 360 controller or 9 year olds yelling "******" every 30 seconds, you can have yourself a fun match. I hear the Spec Ops mode is great, I haven't given it a go. Seeing as it's a Friend Invite only multiplayer setup, I probably won't be on it for a while.

$65 is really pushing the price tag. If you can put up with your multiplayer setup (the PC versions much publicized crap, or the 360s controller and children), it might be worth it. But the single player, albeit amazing, is much too short, even for a 5 day rental.
