Digital download stores
I found this about digital shops... I've been looking for a list like this for a long time and thought everyone would be interested.
I added stompy and zipdj cause those are the sites I use. I'm sure there are more as well...
www.Beatport.com
Specialized: general
Comments: Full flash, not very easy to navigate and slow dl speed during rush hours. The hidden tax fees system is very annoying but still they are the best 0-time distributor on the internet. Their back catalogue is also the largest on the market.
www.Junodownload.com
Specialized: general
Comments: Their mail support sucks big time. Great download speed and good prices. Some exclusive oldies can be found there too in excellent prices (e.g 3$ for a mixed compilation)
www.traxsource.com
Specialized: soulful, deep
Comments: Very good prices and awesome support but there are far too many labels (if not genres) missing from their catalogue. Good site for the us style house lovers.
www.whatpeopleplay.com
Specialized: techno, minimal
Comments: New store, evolved really fast and looks good. Excellent back catalogue for techno releases and superb navigation.
www.audiojelly.com
Download speed: 5/10
Specialized: trance
Comments: Great store for trance lovers, fast and user friendly.
www.boomkat.com
Specialized: electronica
Comments: Non-mainstream store, specialized on discovering new artists and sounds. You can broad your EDM knowledge simply by following their weekly recommendations. The no-paypal policy is a bit annoying though
www.dancetracksdigital.com
Specialized: general content
Comments: Excellent new store (check it out!) with amazing prices. Most albums, old and new are at 10$, no hidden fees. Still they are missing a lot of labels and they do not accept paypal (yet). Their mail support is beyond amazing.
www.stompy.com
www.trackitdown.net
www.zipdj.com
What about trackitdown.net?
Such a huge store!
www.dancemusichub.com
instant track loading times & paypal support.
all the genres covered.
standard prices.
easy to navigate, but finding remixes of trax can be very difficult at times when searching from the original.
This is haunting me: could Space Bird Records be some kind of "AI label". They release A LOT OF music in shorts periods of time and thinking maybe some of those releases are made with AI. Many tracks sound much like each other.
Not much info of the label by googling. Quite mysterious. Its like they are spamming shitty music each week.
