As Groundhog Boy said all they have are generalised catchphrases they've heard in the media.. when pushed for more specific opinions they've got nothing.

No one is laughing at their opinions per se.. more their ignorance. I'd laugh just as much at Obama die-hards who can't get beyond "he stand for freedom.. and america and hope" etc.
