Exclamation -- The Fourth Kind --

So question to anyone who has watched this

worth it?

the trailer makes it seem really good but lately it's all about the trailer

Rotten Tomatoes trashed it, apparently it was horrible.

Posted by Ygrene on Nov-17-2009 13:55:

It might be the best film I've ever seen. Even better than 2012.

While most of the reviews are a little too harsh on movies, when the movie gets a 14% out of 100%, that generally means most people, snooty or not, thought it was shit.

i dont ever go by what critics or the general public has to say about movies because they're all fucking morons...at least when it comes to comedies. i think i was the only person on this planet who didn't like "there's something about mary" or "american pie".

anyway, i think the 4th kind looks pretty damn scary and i love mila jovavich. can't wait to see it.

I'm with you... "The Box" had like 41% of people liking it on Rotten Tomatos, and most of the reviewer on Yahoo movies said all kinds of nonsensical shit. It almost deterred me, and when I saw it I was like, "What the hell... this movie is cool, unique, and absolutely makes a very clear point as to what it's really about."

Reminds me of when Vanilla Sky came out and everyone got so caught up in "Ahhh it's so confusing... is it reality? Was he dreaming? It's so stupid I don't know what was really happening when..." that they totally missed the fucking point/theme of the film.

Point being that Cameron Crowe is a hack and Abre Los Ojos was better?

Fuck that bro...I have found some really good movies by ignoring what these idiot critics think. Watch the shit for yourself and be your on critic.

I hear you, I totally understand, but I'm a cheap bastard and won't spend money on a movie if the general population hated it.

However, I will say that I thought Transformers 2 was pretty badass, but the "general populous" hated it for some reason.

lol yes yes, we all know about that situation. If the original spanish version never happened, V.S. would still stand on its own.

True enough. Decent acting as well - Jason Lee was really excellent, I felt. And Kurt Russell, but I think he's always an interesting actor, whether he's good or not.

TECH SUPPORT! TECH SUPPORT!!!

//Ok, so the soundtrack gets kudos for being really various, too. I still think it glistened with a bit too much Hollywood and a too little originality, but what doesn't anymore?

I was so horribly disappointed to find out he's a Scientologist. He was great in Vanilla Sky and Almost Famous.

WHAT!?!?!? Jason Lee is a Scientologist!? Fuck!!! That is indeed very disappointing man. I loved him in VS and AF too... was looking forward to more stuff like that, then he went to network tv and presemted himself as a dumb hick.

Speaking of Vanilla Sky quotes: "Dude, fix your fucking face!"

Thumbs up

I suggest everyone to check this movie out and don't read or do any research about this film and just go watch it. This movie get's into your hear big time and made a lot of people think about things that science may not be able to explain. I definitely enjoyed it.
