And I mean singles.

The last shop that sold singles in CDs went bankrupt. Go figure.

but with trance in particular you'll find it tends to be the same few labels which put their stuff out on CD: the Recoverworld/Discover lot, Monster and the Armada lot - that's about it. If you like them, then great!
psyshop.com sells mostly on cd with compactstick becoming more popular.

Lately I've been buying lots of singles from Discogs. Physical products are awesome
Digital is just really starting to piss me off.
Also, lot's of record companies will make their own CDs for you (I'm thinking of Platipus, Lost Language, Hooj, etc). Sadly their really isn't any more big companies that sell lots of singles. As mentioned above, the last one went bankrupt so we'll see if anyone will try to do that again.
I was checking out junodownload the other day and I saw that you have the option of putting the release on a cd for an extra charge. I guess if you bought .wav it would be the same as an original cd.
If the mastering or recording is crap the MP3 or WAV makes no difference.
I don't really see how buying a physical CD versus a download of the same tune is different. If the CD face is important to you, get a CD printer and write tunes to printables.
I quite like to burn my own CDs since it's much easier to sort out the tunes.
If you like the physical aspect of media, buy vinyl. It is very satisfying, cds... not so much.
