Trance Thursday @ Birch Coffee
Hello all. I have been quite the trance addict for over ten years now. My ultimate dream was to open my own coffee shop solely so that I can play whatever music I want to play and whenever I want to. Well, after a loooooooong time, that has come to pass. Since I can't play trance 24/7 (I would if I could), I have decided to dedicate every Thursday afternoon from 12-4 pm to the Global DJ Broadcast with Markus Schulz and A State of Trance with Armin van Buuren. Come listen to some quality trance while sipping a quality cappuccino!! Our shop's opening is Tuesday October 27th and our first Trance Thursday will be October 29 at 12 pm. Birch Coffee is located at 5 East 27th St. between 5th and Madison.
Hope to see you there.
Check out our site at www.birchcoffee.com!!
See ya Thursday

Thats awesome, but what about the people who dont work around there? I live in the city, but even *I* cant make it on any of those hours because I dont work in the area.....maybe you ought to have a twice a week thing? What about Sundays 12-4......thats always coffee time for people!
I agree , Sundays are good
Cool site too! Good luck with the business, and I'll make sure I go out of my way to hit up your coffee before and after work
We need more indie establishments...
good luck with your store. hopefully the starbucks on 29th is far enough away. Although, you have the right idea with using novel ideas to bring in customers.

Def a good idea to offer something different to bring ppl in. A cousin of mine has a coffee shop in Austin that has live indie bands almost every night (one of the first ones in Austin to do this 15 years ago), her cafe is one of the musts during SXSW and it's very popular with the college kids, so she's doing really well. Indie coffee shops are the best, I will def stop by for some coffee. Now if possible, try to maybe play Heidi's and/or Digweed's show

this is a really awesome idea. i might stop in if i decide to take a day off from class :P
another thing you might want to think about doing that i think would be cool, would be something like this before a trance event. would be awesome to have meetups at a place like this before heading to a venue.
wow a great idea and congrats to you! If you have some spare change at some point, maybe in the future look into setting up a little booth to have guest DJs spin for a few hours that would be sick too!
I will stop by one of these thursdays, although I have to say there's a lot better trance out there than a state of cheese and global cheese broadcast.
Either way good luck!
I'm in the area a lot for work and always look for a place to catch up on my laptop. Good location, I'll stop by soon.
will deff support and check out asap. pretty sweet for the ppl who work around, they can catch some asot/gdjb while lunch
I plan on being a regular here haha... I've been looking for a new coffee spot in the area as I hate Starbucks... Any chance you can play really cool (even non-trance) music the other 6 days a week as well, like Massive Attack, Thievery Corp, Ullrich Schnauss, Trentemoller, etc.???... I just need a cool coffee shop cos as of now that's all that's missing in my daily life!
Oh shit, sounds fucking great!
Very cool idea man! I've often talked about how nice something like this would be with my friends. Your shop's not too far from my school and thursday is a great day for me, so I'll definitely be hanging around there. Plus, since Shitbucks laid me off after working for them for 6 years, I feel compelled to support local coffee shops any chance I get.
wow, i am going to come here the weekend of a&b when i come to nyc. you should name some of your menu items as classic tracks, like the carte blanche granola or the artistic madagascar hummus, hahaha. oh you should also give like a 5% discount to anyone that correctly hums the melody to what the items are named after or just start taking orders based on humming hahahaha.
see you in a couple of weeks!
