Can someone assess this situation with my car?

So a little background on what happened

I was taking the yorkdale exit off the 401E, and it was raining today so it was slippery, I was going trying to stop but my car hit full speed into the curb

Now the alignment on my 1999 civic is shifting the car to the left, and the front left wheel is shifted back now as well. I left it in the car repair for them to look at, I am wondering just the price range I will be looking at to fix this alignment issue?

I got 3 estimates for a p[roblem just like that when I hit a median.

Most estimates were 1200 - 2000 bucks... The local Master Mechanic was the one that refused to give me an estimate until they put it on a hoist. They did... $800. They got my business, and got it for another couple of years until I found an independant who had a Miata himself, runs his own operation and I pay him cash.


So.... make sure someone puts it on a hoist and looks at it before an estimate.

If it's at a place where they have it on a hoist and give you a true estimate, I'd be confident.

I went to 3 or 4 places about 4 years ago who just looked at my fcucked up front left wheel. It was/looked extremely bad. My steering could not do right hand turns, just left (slight right at least just to drive str8). Each just walked around the vehicle and gave me the high estimates. I was fed up and and let the one that refused to estimate until they looked at it seriously, that gout my business seriously.

If they're looking at it seriously rather that kicking the tire and giving you a ballpark, go ahead with them.

Personally, I swear by Craig's Performance in Aurora, in case you wanted to know... no bullshit from Craig... he tells you like it is. He was able to find another problem that Master Mechanic couldn't, and been with him ever since.

Ouch, you're looking atleast $1200 to $2500. Your hub assembly, control arm, bearings, axle, etc. might be damaged. Your chassis might be mis-aligned too which costs a lot.

Find out what parts need replacing before buying anything new. There are a lot of civic enthusiast forums that you can find cars being parted out on. These forums will have for sale sections. Control arms, hubs, suspension.........all good things to pick up second hand from a parted out car.

Edit: Most of the forums will/should have a local section too, so finding civic parts locally shouldn't be an issue. They only pump out thousands of them a year

I used to work in chassis. It sucked balls.
