(As Promised) The Old Skool Ultimix [90s Dance]

As mentioned and much requested here, two mixes of radio-friendly dance music from the 90s. Again, completely out of my ordinary, and again I played that Supereal track, but I never thought I'd be sharing these mixes.

Few things:
1. The track titles are wrong, so Part 1 is Part 2, although the file names are correct.
2. The FTP program gave me some bullshit "Can't upload" message for Part 2 even though the full file looks to be there. Let me know if it cuts off or has problems.
3. I lost Part 2 after a reformat and so this version is the slightly wonky draft extracted from my MP3 player. It has a few problems, mostly EQing, but this is hardly high art so fuck it.

To be honest, the only track here I think scales similar heights of cheesy bollocksness is Samba De Janeiro, which I put in because my friends all loved it and this mix was intended for our consumption.

No. I was being mock hurt. I know it's a terrible track - it just brings back great memories for me.

Finally!

I just took a listen to the mp3 with Part 2 in its name and I have a bit mixed feelings. I wasn't very impressed but it wasn't trash either. Enjoyable mix with good gradation but with some strange transitions (I know its old skool but still they didn't sound right) and not any stand out points, at least for me (except What Is Love ofc ). I know its hard to make such a mix but I heard better ones and I hope you will make a better one too, although I have yet to listen to the other part.

I don't remember having so much fun listening to a mix off TA. The mixing is solid and the set never loses it's energy. Love the transitions from mid era trance to classic house to breaks. I've so far listened to this set 5 times and wish it was summer to hear it then

What's the problem, woscar? Seems to be working for most people.

As for the transitions: the first few on the first part are definitely rudimentary at best, and when you're working with three minute radio tracks you sometimes just have to slam that crossfader. Overall though I don't think the mixing is particularly terrible on either part.

Not sure, I tried and it kept cutting off at random points. I'm downloading again right now and it seems to be working fine. I'll let you know.

Well, I downloaded both parts... of course, the second one had much more nostalgic value for me, since nearly every one of those songs were stuff I listened to repeatedly when I got into dance music. I agree with the people who complained about the crossfader slams, it killed the flow a tad... was looking forward to hearing a bit of layering of the different tracks.

I'd say "Ebeneezer Good" was cheesier than "Samba De Janeiro" :P

Yeah, if you're expecting some clever layering then I wouldn't get your hopes up. As I said, these were made for parties, and it was mostly about playing the tunes, not fucking about with them.
