I am astounded.

How do you even compile, practice and perfect something like this without seriously injuring yourself in the process? It's not like a trapeze act where you can have a safety net.

Posted by Sushipunk on Nov-24-2009 06:05:

I could do that, but I don't want to.

Posted by Domesticated on Nov-24-2009 06:06:

Perhaps they practice wearing body armour.

Surely that would fuck up their balance?

Also, dykes on bikes?

Posted by enydo on Nov-24-2009 06:09:

That really is crazy.

when youve been humiliated in 2 world wars it drives you to do better.

Balance, remarkable balance.

It's not that amazing.

Don't be an ass. There's a difference between balancing on say...a giant stationary ball, and riding a fucking bike and spinning the handlebars while your sister stands on your shoulders.

What's an amazing physical feat in your opinion, then?

The whole time I was just waiting for them to screw it up. That was pretty awesome.

Posted by Fledz on Nov-24-2009 06:23:

It's not amazing in the sense that with enough practice, many people would be able to do it. Yes, it takes a shitload more practice than most people would be willing to put in but it's not something that makes me go "Holy crap I could never ever in a million years ever do that".

I'm more astounded by physical feats (like that other vid that JBJ posted), mainly because you need the right genes to even get to that point. Balance isn't quite the same.

Way to fucking remove the drama. Put a damn spoiler alert before your post

Fair point.

However, I'm sure you realise that a great deal of things are achieved via sheer willpower, from being the CEO of a company to winning gold at the Olympics. This willpower manifests itself in the form of dedication, patience and persistence. Irrespective of the form it takes, I am amazed by people with such massive amounts of it.

The increased potential for doing gymnastics and cool body weight feats in general is the only thing that sometimes makes me wish I weren't so tall.

Absolutely, I completely agree.

The problem these days with the prevalence of the internet and youtube in particular, we've all become desensythised to most things. We see it so much and whenever we want that maybe we just aren't as impressed as we used to be a mere 10 years ago?

Well, we've become desensitised to everything, haven't we? Last year I watched a man force a jar into his anus.

So good times? I'm gonna go with good times
