Road rage

Tell me your stories. They had better be good. Are you a victim? Or perhaps a perpetrator? Personally, I think that if you feel the need to get out of your car just because someone cut in front of you or did something wrong, you need to go to anger management classes and get your issues sorted out.

So, ten minutes ago I was driving along a two lane arterial here in Melbourne. There were roadworks ahead and I duly indicated to move into the adjacent lane, as mine was running out. I indicated for perhaps 50m, but the shit-eater in the white commodore behind me wouldn't let me in, even though I was half a car length in front of him.

I therefore had three options: crash into the roadworks barrier, slam on my brakes or speed up and cut in front of him. Of course, I chose to cut in front, seeing as my nose was already in front and I had indicated correctly. Besides, the law specifies that in these situations 'the zipper effect' should be used, making my action justified.

Unsurprisngly, I received a blast of the horn for my efforts. After the road widened out again, we pulled up at the lights. The 40 year old bogan driver stopped beside me and started making threatening gestures, involving lots of pointing and cutting motions. At that point, I did what I always do when people are obviously angry at me on the road. I put on my silliest smile and gave him a very emphatic wave to show that I was extremely pleased with how angry I'd made him. This caused him to put his car into park and motion to open the door. However, with the lights changing he thought the better of it and drove off.

Does anyone else feel that road rage perpetrators are often incensed because they've driven like an arsehole and forced you to wrong them? That's usually my experience, but then again if I see someone tailgating me or otherwise driving in an intimidating way, I'll usually go out of my way to drive slowly in front of them, cut them off and generally prevent them from doing what they want. If I lived in America I'd probably be too scared of getting shot to bother with this.

jeez dude. i have horrible road rage...random flicking people off, that's about the extent of it.

HOWEVER! if someone is speeding worse than me (like doing 90-100) and they try to pass me, i say "fuck you buddy" and don't let them....and i'll end up braking excessively as well. i just hate it when people are obnoxious and REALLY wreckless. i might speed; but i never do it excessively enough to really endanger anyone.

but yeah i flick people off and scream out "GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!" haha

i had some serious road rage when i was 7 1/2 months pregnant and driving home from the grocery store and some idiot ran a red light and hit me driving through the intersection. His car was smashed into my jeep so i couldn't get out so i unrolled the window and started yelling at him and waving my fist "if i could get out of my jeep i'd kick your ass!!" i don't think he was very scared until the paramedics and police showed up and they pulled me out of the passenger side and he saw i was REALLY pregnant. yeah. i think his insurance went up. and i think i had the right to be really pissed.

what REALLY pisses me off is when im driving all nice and great on the right lane & SOMEONE has to drive up at 90 mph from far away up to the ass of my car when the left lane is completely open for them to pass me. idk WHY they do this but i hate it and love it bc when they do i purposely piss them off by slamming my breaks. my car definitely has less value than theirs so i could care less.

ALSO, when a car is edging up near mine, signaling 'gtfo the way' i love to not move or in fact, get closer i dont fucking care if u scratch my car, however yourrssss....

i hate drivers that are talking on the phone bc they drive slower, people on the highway who are driving on the left lane, that's a PASSING lane only ffs.

i remember one time back home... there was a big traffic. some 20 something year old guy had his head out the window and was saying something to the driver next to him.

next thing i know the other driver, a late 20s looking girl gets out of the car, pops the trunk takes out a metal of some sort and brakes the rear windshield of the guys car Screaming " YOU WANAN LICK MY PUSSY?????? "

i fantasize about having a rifle with me in the car and shooting out a tire of everyone who pisses me off on the road while they drive like idiots.

i just like giving people the thumbs up and a big smile when they do something stupid. it's so much more condescending than flipping them off, and it's usually so obvious that they feel really embarrassed because they can't fight back with anger.

i fantasize of having lasers on my car. fucking make all the cars around me go POOF.

btw will, im not trying to go off on you, but i have road rage as well, and i find it hypocritical that YOU are allowed to speed, flick people off, tell them to gtfo ur way, BUT when u see someone else speed, THEY are being reckless + you turn into a dick and block them anyway, so if anyone pulls that shit on you, you would deserve it. i just hope we never drive on the same road.

Also!! new point, has anyone noticed ALL old people that can't drive anymore are driving, AND they drive the stupid Oldsmobile??!1

Let's not turn this into a "damn I hate it when people do x on the road..." because we all have a million gripes there. This is about specific incidents you've witnessed.

Another time I was driving and saw a really angry guy get out of his car to go and confront the driver behind him. The driver behind him then stepped out and was an absolute behemoth, at which point the first guy ran back to his car, got in and locked the door looking scared as shit. The behemoth tapped on the window and smiled. I enjoyed being there to witness that.

I was driving with a full car of young ladies when I almost got t-boned in a reasonably quiet suburban street. Being me, I made liberal use of the horn, combined with a �watch what you�re doing you fucking moron!� Of course both our windows happened to be rolled down so he got to hear every word. Fvcker then tailed me for about 5 minutes, but then gave up (or so I thought).

We were parked at one of the girls� house when sure enough this middle aged plumber drove up and stopped next to us, to have a chat with me. �have you never made a mistake mate?� he said angrily.
Of course, being me and a cunt, obviously I stated in the negative. �not like yours champ!�

I cant remember exactly what happened next, but violence was the next topic of conversation. That spooked me a bit coz its really hard to gauge the physical prowess of older men. Especially if he had a few tools in his van to touch up my beautiful face with. And of course, being girls, the chicks didn�t fully appreciate the seriousness of the situation and one of them piped in with something along the lines of �yeah, bring it on mate!�

That�s the way girls. Get me killed.

I love using the horn and shaking my head and giving the finger. I would never get out of my vehicle to assault anyone though.

i was driving my ex's 04 mercedes SL500 without his permission while he was in vegas and i almost got completely T-boned by a lady who ran through a red light as i was passing through it from the other direction. she flew in front of me just seconds before i was going to be there. i slammed on the brakes so hard and stopped in the middle of the intersection and immediately jerked the wheel to the right and floored it and caught up to her at the next light on that road. got out of my car and screamed at her through the closed window. she had her young daughter in the car and i was like, "THIS IS HOW YOU DRIVE WITH YOUR CHILD IN THE CAR YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH! YOU'RE LUCKY SHE IS WITH YOU RIGHT NOW" she looked terrified

i was on such an adrenaline rush of anger. i would have been in the deepest shit ever if she hit me in that car and i shouldn't have even been driving it and wasn't a listed driver on the insurance policy.

i don't mind when people speed, it's when they are wrecklessly speeding in traffic.

you want to do 100 mph on the road when there's no one around? fine. by all means, go for it. but when all of traffic is cruising around at 70-80mph, and you're driving thru it / weaving in and out at 90-100mph, that's fucking stupid.

my point of trying to block them is to make them slow the fuck down.

I got to admit that my road rage is pretty bad sometimes. I live in QLD though.

also, this same principle applies when the speed limit is 25-30 and someone is weaving in and out of traffic at 40-50. there's a big difference (at least in my brain) of speeding, and wrecklessly speeding.

ahhh, okay, i thought that was YOU for trying to weave through good traffic.. i hate those mother******s. if you stop them on purpose then good! i like you back again.
