So you're trying to compare women from your country to women that you haven't been around too much by asking us to compare women in our country to women we haven't been around too much?

well yea...you could say that about a lot of women in south florida alone, but most of them are from south america and have just been living here for a few years. so what does that mean?

every country/region has it's share of good and bad/crazy women. just like they have a share of ugly & hot women.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-25-2009 01:13:

pretty much anyone from florida is a write off except nicole because she rose above florida and didn't work at checkers.

Posted by Slylee on Nov-25-2009 01:29:

what are you implying? that everyone from florida works at checkers? lol

Considering being a Mormon happens in many countries, this is subjective.

Why, of course! Isn't it obvious?

Besides, women are all the same, you see? However, if you add some particular trait (i.e. nationality, hair colour, or even a zodiacal sign!) you suddenly get a completely different kind of woman - but they're still all the bloody same! Brazilian women are all kind and sexy, for example, though I'm sure there's something despicable about them; and American women "have shit for morals and are always suffering from some kind of anxiety disorder". It's that easy! Having a pair of X chromosomes and being born in a particular territory are enough to make you lazier than another person with the same pair of chromosomes, but born across the Atlantic.

Why bother and get to know individuals anyway? As a matter of fact, from now on, I'm going to call all American girls in this forum by the same name. Hell, make that every single girl in North America! They're all Claire now. I'm sure Megan, Jenny, Jamie, Theresa, Rose, Myra, and Yukii are pretty much the same, so they may just as well be Claire! They're all blond Mormons students of Psychology currently dating Krypton and Pat even though they're actually married to Eli (now that's unfaithful!) and for some reason they also work as a nurse and spin records.

How's that for "more baggage than desired", Mr. lim f(x)?

This is one of those "insert country here" type things. There are women in every country who could fall into those categories, including the US. All women here are not like that, just like all women in other countries are not like that. You just have to find the good ones, no matter where you are.

Posted by Arbiter on Nov-25-2009 03:24:

Well, I agree with the basic idea of not marrying an American girl. However, that's only because it's an obvious corollary of a much more important nugget of wisdom: don't get married.

I disagree with you there. There are certain cultural facets that tend to manifest themselves as various aspects of a person's personality. In females this is a lot more pronounced. For example, Asian women are part of a society in which men are still seen to be the superior gender. The women must rely on the men for income and protection, meaning they are more respectful and subservient.

Western women, on the other hand, are the result of the gains made by feminism (that's another can of worms). They believe that they should forge their own path in the world and that they are the equal of men. They are less subservient, more independent and more likely to talk back or 'disrespect' their partners (i.e. be a bitch).

This is just one particular example of how culture can influence a person's actions or personality, and I'm sure there are many more.

He's never mentioned rejecting love, only marriage.

I tend to agree really. What's the point of having some mystical bible basher who knows nothing about you say a few magic words to join you and your partner? If you really love someone there should be no problem existing together without the legal status. A guy at my office has three kids with his girlfriend - they have no intention of getting married - and their lives work exactly the same as everyone else's. The only difference is, if something goes wrong between them they don't have to ruin their lives with a legal battle.

Posted by Slylee on Nov-25-2009 03:45:

it also means that neither of them would have a say if an accident were to happen and one of them was on life support. his or her family would have the say and could even fight for custody of the kids.

just sayin...
