DJ Deals head-up - Xone:32 for $299

Have heard mixed reviews re. DJ Deals and have never ordered from them myself, but for those shopping around for a new mixer, this is a pretty sweet deal:

http://www.djdeals.com/allenheathXONE32.htm

Don't know exactly how legit a deal it is, what's in stock and if the units are new/refurb - might want to inquire before ordering. And if this is too spammish, go ahead and close/delete it...

<---owns a Xone:32 and thinks it's the bomb-diggity

Meant to post this yesterday but forgot!

I've ordered a few things from them and have never had any problems. I've never ordered any "core" gear from them though (mixers, decks, etc.)

How does this compare to the Xone:92 in terms of sound quality?

Well, you're comparing a mixer that's (usually) double the price, but I would venture to say that the sound quality at least is comparable between the two.

Put it this way - I've played out on my 32 on a small Dynacord system in a 100+ capacity room and it sounded fantastic.

As I mentioned in another thread, only recommendation I'd make would be to replace the stock CF with a Penny&Giles unit once the original has worn out.

The main thing I would change on the 32 would be the line fader knobs - they're the longer kind you usually see on production mixers. Best part about the 32 is the horizontal fader for the filter frequency - wonderfully responsive!

Can't Wait!

Maybe they're getting rid of all the old silver ones now that most of the xone range has had a facelift changing the silver to dark gray/black. I've been checking around to see if some place would have some mad offer on the old silver xone:1D as that'd suit my xone:92 and my budget a lot better. No luck so far though.

I bought my xone:42 from them and couldn't be more pleased. I got this email the other day and it dropped my jaw...

Still happy I went with the 42 though.

the knob above the hi eq is the aux send knob, and yes, the gain knobs are on the back.

I'm tempted to merge this with the special shop offers thread i've stickied above.

I want to try and get people posting special offers from shops, be it MP3's or equipment in one thread above so people can have a quick look through the thread to see what's going around at the moment.

Thoughts???

Would you prefer separate threads or one thread stickied?

Well coming from a Vestax VMC-004 It's day and night.
The mixer is an absolute joy to mix on. At first I was a bit worried about the studio faders but now I think they're perfect. They have a bit of resistance and feel very smooth. Everything on the mixer feels absolutely solid. No complaints really. Just have to make sure I dont accidentally press the transmute buttons while using the CDJs and learn to use the filters and LFO better. The filter is great btw, its not the "light" ones you get on the 22,it's the real deal. Now I know what everyone means when they talk about the sound quality of the Xone.

My absolutely amazing girlfriend and her mom got me this for xmas. How cool.

Mixed on it for an hour or two, and it's an absolute pleasure to mix on. The gain knob thing is weird... it's not too hard to get used to, but I'm a bit disappointed that it's going to make it kinda impossible for me to flush-mount this mixer like I had originally planned.

would it be a huge bitch routing the gain to where the auxiliary is via modification? curious myself.

I thought about asking the same thing... I'm nervous to tear into my shiny new piece of kit, though.
