In little short of twelve months 2Pin Records have pieced together a carefully selected roster of artists and begun to develop a sound that has attracted praise from Steve Bug, Shur-I-Kan, Ramon Tapia and Stephan Bodzin amongst many others. This latest release sees 2Pin unearth some exciting deep tech house talent in the shape of Brett Lawrence.

This Is Freaky kicks off the EP in future-retro style. Taking inspiration from the sparse jacking grooves of early Chicago House and blending in an elegant deepness via some super-low bass tones and chopped up vocal loops the track takes on a very modern feel.

Through The Eyes Of Others continues the rolling deepness vibe with a sultry bassline and soft chord patterns working their magic in the foreground while the track is driven along by a solid groove punctuated by splashes of tribal percussion and echoing bongos.

Oblation is the most peak-time of the cuts on offer here, setting the tone with classic ass-wiggling old school bass and tough punchy beats. Building the intensity steadily via stretched out chords and rising / falling stabs this is a mood-setter for the late night floors.
