is culture club still around? I remember they had a messed up disco floor and possibly played all the older stuff.

I think they closed down.

I remember seeing fliers up for 80s night at Pyramid when I used to go there for the Konkrete Jungle parties. Not sure if they still do that and it's not exactly a club.

I'm willing to bet there's something in Williamsburg.

Blasphemy! Never boo the man whose mouth said the words The Smiths.

To the guy that asked, it doesn't hurt to check the Voice.

Pyramid club plays good 80's music. I went there a couple of months ago and they played all the big 80's hits and lots of new wave. Actually was a pretty good crowd and quite crowded.
Downstairs they play industrial on Saturdays. I felt like I was in a Matrix movie.

Webster Hall throws an 80's party earlier in the evenings before their main events. The partygoers even dress 80's to come to the party. I've arrived early for a few events there before and ended up hanging out in that party till they opened the upstairs.

I would advise that this is generally filled with bachelorette parties but it is definitely a fun time. Not many straight men in there though.

Love Poundin' Sensation

Aww I approve this thread.

Miami had a few 80's/New Wave parties called Pop Life and Datt curses me to this day for never taking him to one. I love them

If anyone knows of a good full night - I would love to go!!

Philly used to have a club Poly Esther's but they mostly played really lame shit like "She's a brick house" or "Wake me up before you go go" and crap like Milli Vanilli.

It's an interesting idea for 80's revival though...

Really that was also a club in D.C. called Poly Esther's that played lame 80's stuff too. Its closed about 2 years and I am guessing the one in Philly closed down, hm-mm must have been owned by the same management.

There was a Polly Esther's here too! It was on W 4th St and there was another UES. Both were very cheezy, same owners as Culture Club, horrid franchise.

I agree with the Pyramid rec, good 80's. Sway also had 80's music some nights but it was a while ago. I used to stop by Joshua Tree with work friends, but it was cheezy stuff like Wham, Bon Jovi, and the Go Go's but a lot of fun.
