They're sorta pricey. I have a very small one and it was 40 bucks!

They are gimmicky and you will end up regretting purchasing one.

Also this. I've never actually used mine, lol. In fact, I think I will get rid of it.

Why is that?

Pretty much what it is for, is my grandparents just had their 25th wedding anniversary a couple months ago. I want to load all the pics in a digital photo frame that are on a slideshow. My grandmother has lots of pictures all over, so I figured it was something she could use to replace a few and still have something nice to replace it with.

Ahhh, that's actually a good idea. Old people love that shit. We have one at work and it displays pics from all the outings and craft and bake sales and shit. Those old folks will gab about that shit for hours.

I have one on my desk at work. Love it.

That said, I mostly just have rotating pictures of my dog.

As do all of them.

In other words, don't get one, you will regret it.

They're bright. I like it dark at night, and it's just one more thing that I'd have to turn on and off. It just seems obnoxious and gimmicky to me, however old people would certainly dig it.

Exactly. And since it takes flash media (I will be getting an 8gb card) cards, there will be plenty of room on it.

Yeah, not something I would generally purchase for myself.

I'm not sure which one, but one of the Sony S-Frame models:

Ahh cool. The Sony ones are the best looking, but I want a large one. Unfortunately, they are a bit more than I can afford.

Looking at this one, and pretty much just going to buy it.

i got one like 3 months ago, but i never figured out how to crop the pictures so they all were complete full screen, so i never really use it.

They are quite awesome. However, only if you buy a decent one. Don't go cheap or you'll hate it and they will hate it.

I'll tell you which one I bought for my mum when I get back home tomorrow.

I just bought the one I linked to above. I will be testing it anyways, so the verdict will be reported back. Please do get me the model though.

Find one with e-paper... it'd only be like a grand a square inch but it solves the light problem.

I love B&W, but I also know they both have their place.

I've actually been contemplating getting my dad one for xmas. He's stuck in the 1970s technology wise and it'd allow him to have some pictures on and I'd get kudos points. Or I might just buy him socks again
