Turntablists???
I was just wondering if any you guys spin stuff other than trance/dance music.
Me I spin trance and hip-hop (never together though)
Just wondering if any one else does anything like scratching, juggling, cutting, body tricks blah blah blah
To me its more fun than just mixing in tracks but sometimes it can get so damn frustrating

I do da hip-hop thing to.
yeah alot of trance djs do scratc sometimes.. but you'd barely notice
look @ johan gielen @ trance energy 2000
when theres a song playign (cant remember which tho )
and he queues in the moon blow your speaker vocals and starts doing some mad scratches with that
also pvd i think i heard him just doing some Crab scratching i think its called.. into his set @ hxxl or something
or coudl that be part of the track?
so yeah you can scratch to trance and make it good just be innovative!
club trance it works the best id think tho cause its already fast paced and in yo face!
Gl on being creative!

Though I dont spin Hip-Hop, out of interest for anyone there was a post a while back on Turntabalism in trance here in the DJ Booth Forum. Obviously its not to the extent of what youll see a hip-hop DJ employ but it can be incorporated quite nicely. Ill see if I can dig up the thread...

I spin hip hop for alot of B-Boy events as well as my love.....trance.
I love doing all the tricks. As for the guy that is having trouble.....it is somthing that (just like regular DJing) you must learn on your own. Look for something by the invisible scratch piklz. They are unreal and it can be a huge help to boost the learning curve.
Yeah I know q-bert and crew are amazing
I have some of the DMC worlds on tape and lots of vids on my computer
I practice just about every day time for new stylus and crossfader thought
Once i get those ill post a sample up here for you guys to hear
and if PvD can do crabbing thats pretty impressive
Part of mixin is makin your own mixes. Me i like to mix music backwards and with the power off function. If your style is to skratch in a song with your dick behind the back on one foot then thats your style man. Stay true to it or we all sound the same. Playin with mixes are the only thing that keeps me goin at 4 am in a club. Keep your mind open, and to all the hip-hop/trance djs out there holla!
Scratchin and trancin is good if you can do it. Just dont rap to trance. Youll get murdered.
