Whatever you do, don't elope in Las Vegas. It's fast, relatively cheap, and makes a great story. But the hangover of a spouse + lawyer fees for the divorce isn't worth it.
Although I admit, if I had it all to all over again, I still would've married that rat bastard con artist. It was a fun night. But he racked up a lot of debt on our joint credit cards and then had an affair and put all his presents to her on the credit cards. And stuck me with the bill. But he's been history for 5 years now, so I can laugh about it now. Sort of.

Went there for 1 night and next day this past summer. Some advice I guess.
1. Once you walk off the terminal you'll know why vegas is meant for gambling
2. I stayed at the Luxor.(50+resrot fee/night) I asked for the tower rooms(Better than pyramid) and got it with no hassel. Check in was a wait though.
3. At New York, New York they offer morning learn how to play craps classes for free. 30 minutes or so and then you get to start off with 5 $ min.
4. Watching the bellagio fountain show from the top of paris tower is cool during the night.
5. Avoid the strip buses. With the traffic and stops it takes forever to go anywhere. Probably faster to walk unless you really are that tired.
6. Collect the stripper promotion cards they give out at this one intersection near paris and give them to your friends back home.

Collect the stripper cards and hand them back to the hand out men. They just stare at you and have no idea wtf and actually take it haha.
keep it comin guys! this is all gold
Take your gambling money, rent a car, drive to lake Mead (about 30 mins away), rent a speed boat for a day (do come early tho, sun sets at around 5pm and there's no dusk, it goes dark because of mountains). Be careful when walking around barefoot on land around the lake tho - saw a black widow and heard a rattlesnake. Still, it was one of the most amazing days of my life... Saw Hoover damb and got to see bass fishes you only see on fishing shows. ****** must have been at least 30 lbs.
If you can, catch Cirque Du Soleil "O" at Bellagio - fucking sick. My only regret was that I didn't have a spliff beforehand to make it even more awesome. Also, fountains and botanical garden at bellagio is a must see as well. It's a good place to gamble too - won $900 on BJ tables. Just look for a crew that plays by the rules. If a jerk off stays on 13 or hits on 18 when dealer is showing 10 - move along.
Stay away from the far side of the sstrip - Luxor, Excalibur, Mandalay bay, etc. Horrible stank places and lousy experience all around
Lake Las Vegas is very nice. No powerboats but its a great place to watch a sunset and get away from everything - well they have casinos there as well but it doesnt feel so vegas-esque.
def hit elyyse up, ever since shes moved out there shes been partying it up -- she'd definitely know all the places to go
cirque du soleil at the mirage was unreal. i saw the beatles "love" performance. not sure if its still playing there but if it is its certainly worth seeing.
bunny ranch is about 4 hours from vegas down closer to reno.
i heard drais is a good afterhours spot as well. personally cant say since ive never been but heard from friends who have enjoyed it.
