The Office - Season 6

This year has been up and down but tonight's christmas episode was fantastic!!

How has everyone been enjoying the season so far?

Posted by feelgood on Dec-11-2009 07:45:

I found this season to be a bit too ridiculous. Michael has gone from being a mildly incompetent boss to a complete idiot. Sometimes its overbearing. Ive watched the show since it first aired, and it feels as if its been on steady decline for the last two seasons. Sometimes it feels as if theyre stretching for material.

However.. ive also been watching parks and recreation.. and that show is pure brilliance. Aziz Ansari's character is best thing to happen to comedy this year.

Season 6 has been pretty stale. The highest part this season is the wedding, and that's pretty much it. Parks and Recreation on the other hand is getting better and it's pretty good this season.

And lately I've been watching It's Always Sunny in Philly, which is fantastic.

What's the deal with 30 Rock? I heard it's been slumping this season from some friends.

After season 3 it became pretty bland imo. I've been meaning to try to find out if they got new writers. I can't imagine what else would explain it.

Agreed completely. He's not even believable anymore.

i'm finding that i watch the show now more for the drama and less for the comedy. the jokes haven't been as funny, but the drama and story lines have been developed really well.

I'm so in love with the new receptionist!!

Holy crap she's so cute, adorable and quirky awesome!!

Edit:
And Dwight's been on fucking fire this season IMO

i agree with jem. you people are way to hard on the office. i'll admit the first couple seasons had more of a ricky gervais influence but 6 seasons is a lot of episodes to write and it still has so much hilariousness going down...

micheal's speach at jim and pam's wedding
andy in general
anytime andy dances or sings
creed <3
the temp's outfits

and the list could go on

OMG! Creed!!

How did I forget him -- my favourite Office character!!

Jesus he's fucking hilarious... his antics and casual comments are brilliant....

Like in the "murder mystery" episode that Michael arranged... he shows up late, thinks everyone is really looking for murder, gets scared (presumably bc he didnt murder someone?? LOL hahahah) and bails, peels outtta the parking lot in his hugeass boat of a car!

Fucking gold!! <3 Creed

this season is either meh or 30 rock has been just killing it this season that in comparison this is nothing.

Creed is my favourite too!! I wish he had more lines but it would probably ruin his character. It sucks when there are entire episodes where he doesn't say anything.

I love when he dies his hair to look younger so he won't get fired.

Maybe so, but only because I loved it so much at first and it faded imo. That's the downside of quality I guess.

I still like the Office, don't get me wrong. I'll still watch it. But, as pointed out earlier, Michael is getting ridiculous at times. I'm not laughing as much as I used to during the Office.

Totally. This season has defeinitely been one of my favorites. The last season was mediocre for me, but this season has definitely redeemed itself.

the Murder was my favorite episode thus far. And jim and pam's wedding...yep, I cried.

I will say the parkour bit at the start of one of the season 6 episodes was pretty bad ass.

Anyone else disappointed in this episode? I was really looking forward to the new episode and 90% of it is just clips from old episodes (which I see all the time now that it's on 5 days a week around dinner time)

Same here...might have been the lazier way out but I guess they were just trying to show the past 6 years of the show? Meh. The Christmas Ep was great...

Posted by LKD on Jan-24-2010 17:39:

with 30 Rock and Better Off Ted on TV, The Office has just been a whole load of suckage this whole season while the other 2 just keep getting funnier by the ep.

Have yet to watch it but I read on the interwebs that Ricky Gervais reprised his roll as David Brent in tonight's episode

Also, Will Ferrell will be in a 4-episode story arc that aligns with Steve Carrell's departure

Yep! I was caught off guard when I saw it, yet thoroughly amazed.

I don't get why it was such a small cameo. Does anyone think it could work for the American version of the Office to have the show continue with Ricky Gervais as the manager?

He doesn't want to do it.

Rumor has it that Harvey Keitel is taking over. I give it one season.

I love Harvey Keitel, but I really can't picture anyone playing a Michael Scott-type character. Without that, the show isn't really the same anymore.

It'd be like the opposite of adding Danny Devito to It's Always Sunny.
