I shall sit in the corner with my dunce cap on, but how the hell do you embed the soundcloud player in a post?!

Even if I quote a post where somebody else has done it and I do exactly the same thing it seems to not work.

Someone mentioned it in the mod thread that happened a while ago but Swamper didn't do anything about it

It's not embedding, it's HTML code, period. See at the bottom, just under the "Submit Reply" and "Preview Reply" buttons and a little to the left, there's the "Forum Rules"? One of them says "HTML code is OFF", and that's a forum-specific setting. In TOTA, for example, it's anarchy, we can post whatever we want.

That's an admin setting so only Swamper can change it. There's definitely a case to be made for allowing embedding in the production/DJ forums... but it could also be abused.

I hear you but I think we should be able to embed. Tough luck if you're on a 56k dialup - chances are you're sitting on a decent computer with some even entry level music equipment meaning I think it's safe to assume you've got some form of broadband.

I also don't think the term "anarchy" can be applied for people embedding youtube vids on a forum? anyway, isn't that why we now have mods? To stop shit like that getting out of hand?

If you can embed one thing, you can embed anything, and post any HTML. It's possible to embed annoying Flash apps or even break the page layout. Not that this happens often, but the potential is there, that's why HTML is disabled.

I'm not taking sides here, just explaining the situation. You can go ahead and convince me, but unfortunately it's not up to me.

Fair enough, but I reckon Swamper's more likely to listen to you than he is to me

Surely the Production sub-forum is home to some of the more mature TA's...
