Virus TI Snow - is it worth it?
Alright, so I'm thinking of purchasing the Snow version of the Virus TI. I know that this thing can produce massive sound, and 4-Part Multitimbral should be enough.
I am just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this thing, and if it is worth buying this thing, or should I save for the higher models or something else?
I just got one like 2 weeks ago.
And all I can say is I consider the snow a gamble. It sounds great, very inspiring, but whether or not virus control is gonna work properly for you noone will know till the day it arrives at your house.
You will either be:
A) One of the people who deals with nothing but bugs since the day it comes and can't finish a single fuckn task on it orrr..
B) One of the fortunate people who is able to use virus control for what its advertised to do. (work)
Since your chances of falling into either group are fairly strong imo (theres both a lot of people who it doesn't work for and a lot of people it does work for) all I can say it theres only one way to find out, and make sure you save the reciept. =]
Thats honestly the best advice I can give you.
I love seeing advice being given by the guy who is still trying to figure out how to get audio out of his MIDI port.
I was looking at this baby already for couple of weeks and still don't know if this would be a smart buy.

You can get a Virus Polar TI for $1500-$1700
just save a bit more. thats what im doing at the moment, after new monitors (Adams or Dynaudios), wiring, and interface upgrades.
Once again, Robby provides the lulz
Lol, Where's Digi when you need him, "Digi alert".
I have had a few of the virus's from C KC Indigo 1 & 2, KB, TI, and TI2 desktop (not that I had a chance to do anything constructive with them due to other shit going on) but personally save your money if your after the virus sound, I would suggest going with older models. Although all models vary slightly in sound and functionality they are practically the same, and you will find that the presets have hardly changed also from model to model.
IMHO, but forgive if incorrect. hope that helps.
fact is it can make your tune sound better if you can be arsed with all the bugs that come with it.
i would not buy a virus without knobs
soundwise, definitely worth it.
I just sold a Virus Ti desktop as I saw it's MIDI routing as a bit of a pain. Although it opens like a VST you can only open one instance of it and then route the outputs to different MIDI channels. I just find software far more appealing, faster and more flexible.
The virus does sound great, but in a mix I think you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between it and something like Sylenth or Predator. If it were a Moog or Andromeda it'd be a different story.
Save your money and get some better monitors/room treatment. It'll be infinately more beneficial I reckon.
Or do what I did and buy a powercore instead. You can get the Virus plugin for that, the bae license is the same 4 parts that the snow is too
Here we go again... among the ''remastering a digital release by layering a kick on top of it'' to the ''send your marry christmas trance we know what to do with it'' to the ''send us your lady gaga electro house mix we don't know what to do with it'' plus the ''where to place my monitor guide'' and the random party ''bitch you know who I am'' story that ''effected him'' the all important: is the virus snow worth it? Stay tuned more stupidity to come. This place keeps getting better and better every passing day. ![]()

surely the TI functionality depends on the system. Don't they have a list of safe hardware? I would check such a list before making a purchase on the TI

If it wasn't for my hot raps I wouldn't even own a $200.000 automobile with $50.000 non performance enhancing modifications.
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
