Aliens is my favourite movie all time and I've pretty much enjoyed all of James Cameron's previous work so I'm looking forward to this spectacle although I doubt I'll be able to see it in IMAX 3-D for a while.

This movie event of the millenium deserves it's own thread, away from the rest!

For lack of a better term, this movie looks "pretty" with the special effects I've seen.

There's already talks of a golden globe nomination. I can see hints of JC's previous works in the clips. Michelle Rodriguez in the helicopter thingy looks like that chick controlling the dropship in Aliens. They're both even chewing gun and wearing shades too.

Yeah James Cameron loves blue. This guy uses blue everywhere in his films.

Posted by kotsy on Dec-14-2009 00:23:

Official budget is $237 Million. The 400 was a speculation.

Going to the midnight show Thurs night. I'm cautiously optimistic. Heard the 3D effect is used very well.

I heard a rumor that they spent so much on production that they weren't even planning on taking that much in from the box office, but they developed new camera technology in filming which will be sold to other studios, and this is where they'll make their profit. Again, heard it as a rumor, but interesting still.

This article is a pretty good read if your interested in the camera they developed to make the movie and the push for 3d capability's in theaters.
