Return of proper prog house?

since like 04-05, prog house took back seat to electro house and tech house/minimal, with so many former prog house DJs moving away from it.

Last year or so, we've seen a bit of resurgence of prog. a lot of tracks still have the dark, techy influence to it, but more producers and DJs are going back to more melodic prog sound.

I like.

i have been observing the same trend. I'm kinda tired of the buzz saw house personally and i can't forget the trillions of crappy minimal tech house tracks on beatport when im shopping, i could totally do without that too!

The minimalization of electro.... a proper prog come back.... Do we really need to know what I would think?

Sander K last month... 430ish... the rolling, chugging prog just came driving at us on that dance floor... I could not stop smiling.... the melodies followed.... amazing....

Luke Fair's "Austral Mix" from November on repeat... excellent...

Bring it back. I approve.

Proper prog?

I listened to my fair share over the years.. never thought it lost it's way. You just need to dig through the trash that's being put out.

Luke has always tickled me with his delicious happy prog

I don't anticipate that prog will make a strong comeback any time soon. Techno, minimal, and tech house are still going very strong. We shall see though

I think 2010 will be the year of prog.

In similar news...

Satoshi Tomiie booked for Jan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mmm hmmm... disc 2 of Bedrock 11....

My take on it was that it got so big years back that a backlash was inevitable. Now that ElectroMiniTech have had their turn at the helm, prog is peeking its head around the corner and looking to sneak back in.

While I understand that everything works in trends, prog just feels too perfect to be a slave to the same rules. It should always be around imo. When it left, I fell out of the scene for a while, and am just now giddy that I might have reason to come back. I've missed it

^ur avatar reminded me of Hernan! Can't believe no one mentioned him yet. He has been the most consistent prog dj over the last decade at least. Especially as of late

i think that is hernan...

mad respects to hernan for staying true to prog... can't wait to see him at guv main room again, destroying the place with prog bombs

This thread makes me happy.

Luke, Hernan, Warren have all kept the prog flame alive. In the last year I've also been highly impressed with Holden, sure he's always been a bit experimental but I'm really liking his new prog infused sets.
