sadly it's true...melly was pretty close to DA
This is such sad news. He was always such a nice person and I met him myself, while in Toronto.
very very sad and confusing news. Its so hard to hear that someone was in such pain that they took it that far. I feel a lot of sadness for him, his family, and his friends (mels!)

He was an amazing person.
So amazing that almost in an instant we became such great friends.
I treasure every moment I spent with him. These past 5 years had some great memories.
I am flying home this weekend to attend a service for him.
That sweetheart picked my boyfriend and I up and took us to the FLTA BBQ in September. He was always there for me. Whenever I needed him - he was there. I can't count the times he just came over to my house to just talk shit.
I love him alot. I wish some of you could have met him.
If only you guys can hear the nice words people are messaging me with.
No way. Thats horrible news
def one of the TAs whom ive met in person that was true to himself, no pretentiousness ever. down to earth and a great person. We've had many a great convo from time to time, soo glad to be able to say i had a very good friendship with him since meeting him at SPACE in June 2005 when i went down to visit glittergirl.
i was soo very shocked at the news, and wished i had kept in touch with him more often this yr.
godspeed and r.i.p. Raul <3

My condolences. I didn't really know him but I read a little and it must be hard for people that knew him. Sorry.

never met him personally but he was gr8 on the forum
RIP man
I feel like such a loser, I never got to say Thank you. I should have made more time and kept in touch.
Thank you Raul for always having a kind word for me. You never seemed to think very highly of yourself....I hope that you know now that you were wrong. Look at all of the people who truly cared about you very much that you have affected with this tragedy
Although I am not really much of the religious type, I am sending a mass card to your family along with my condolences.
Horribile news. I didn't know Raul well but I did hang out with him a few times at PVD at Space. He was a nice and respectful guy. I hope is soul is finally at rest. R.I.P. our fallen brother.
shit. really sad news. i only met him a few times myself but i always thought he was such a kind, sweet person. the epitome of a genuine TA; friendly and welcoming.
my heart goes out to his friends and family.
didn't know him, but it sucks when someone who was by all accounts a kind-hearted guy, departs
i think i still have that anti-xmas hardtrance mix he made a few years back...

I didn't know him aside from seeing his posts, but he sounds like he was a good person. That's really awful. My condolences to all his friends and family.

I was absolutely shocked to find out on Friday afternoon about the death of Raul. Although I was not friends with Raul (more like an acquaintance), I always thought well of him.
DarkAngel was one of the first FLTAs that I ever met in my first visit to Miami, during the TA dinner that took place at Porcao (fancy Brazilian restaurant), before Tiesto's set at Space (March 2004). He stood out with his black clothing, his sense of humor, and his friendly attitude. He was definitely one of the most outstanding and interesting characters from the TA forums.
I always enjoyed reading his excellent reviews of trance events in Miami and elsewhere, especially his reviews of ones such as Ferry Corsten at Space (June 2005). I was always absolutely amused by his sense of humor on his posts. I definitely remember he was not a fan of house music (most definitely not a fan of Sander van Kleinenberg). Didn't he used to call house music "timmie"? I also remember he was not a fan of Matthew Dekay. Didn't he used to call him Tooth Dekay? What else? I also remember his enthusiasm for Ferry Corsten, Sander van Doorn (whom he called "the good Sander" in his MySpace page), and Rank-1...among many others.
I caught up with DA once again during WMC 2007, in what would turn out to be the last time I would ever see him. I hung out with Raul, along with my friend Christie, over at Twilo for the Armada All Night party for a good while. That night was an absolute blast! We were among the ones that stuck around till the very end (almost 9AM?), to experience the awesomeness of Rank-1's set!
I chatted with DA on and off on MySpace until he dropped out. I remember the last time I chatted with DA on TA was sometime after WMC 2008 (April 2008). Unfortunately, I lost touch with him, and I had not kept up with TranceAddict since summer 2008.
It is absolutely tragic that Raul left this world so soon! Sorry if my post seemed a bit lengthy. I cannot even begin to understand the pain that would drive someone to commit suicide.
I truly hope that Raul has found eternal peace and happiness. My sympathies go out to his family and to his friends.
Rest In Peace.
Wow... this is unbelievably sad. DA was a great guy, a Trance Addict in the real sense of the word! We'll miss you bro.
I posted this in another thread but I want to share this memory I have with him from Trance Energy 2005.

It's Trance Energy 2005, both of our first times at the party. We had been talking online for months in advance getting hyped for the trip. His being from FL and my being from NJ this would be the first time we met in person after being online friends for some time. With 30,000 people in the house I unbelievable found him fairly easily. We're in that massive crowd rocking out together during Ferry Corsten's set. One of the first few beats of the incoming track hits and we must have been the first people in the crowd to know what it was. We went nuts! FORCE OF GRAVITY!! Raul literally fell backwards in such awe I had to hold him up. Words cannot describe the look of pure amazement on his face. This party had been a longtime dream for both of us to attend and everyone knows that track was one of (if not The) favorite songs of his, and getting to hear it live, by Ferry, at Trance Energy, was something more than special. We went crazy, singing at the top of our lungs with the lazers and pyros firing through the arena. I know that was like a dream for him... and to top it off, Rank 1 played Airwave LIVE on the keyboards that night too.
