RIP Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

UPDATE 3:11 PM ET -- Sources tell TMZ Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're tp;d when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Forgive me in advance for my sarcasm please. Some of us actually have hearts and work in the entertainment industry and support the work of fellow artists, musicians, actors, directors, concert promoters, DJs, etc. We know how hard it is to make a living in show business and get respected for our work. It is tragic any time anyone dies at such a young age. Many are reminded of how fragile life is and reflect on their own mortality. Naturally they are going to be interested for that fact even if they aren't genuinely saddened by the death of another fellow human being. How do you know who knows who? A lot of us on TA live in Hollywood. Darin is on Paul Oakenfold's label. Give me a break. Have some respect for the living as well as the dead.

Just out of curiousity, what exactly do you do to support the work of artists? Did you purchase every song on your computer?

This is just a guess but lets say by looking at your website/myspace under the barrage of unresized flyers that you look like you have been clubbing since you were maybe 15 years old? which makes you about 30? That's 15 years of supporting artists which breaks down to about $16,666 a year for 15 years = $250,000 (not including movies and DVD's of course) If you are going to sit here and tell me that you drop that much money you are either a trust-fund baby or you are a complete retard.

Do you know how much vinyl records cost? They cost a lot. Someone with a record collection of over 10,000 records averaging $10 per record would have spent $100,000 easy. That doesn't include tax or records that cost $12.99-$15.

What do you care where my money comes from or how I spend it? That's my business. If I want to spend it on records, concerts, shows, etc., that's for me to decide.

I have been collecting, playing, producing music for more than 17 years and I have an entire wall of vinyl collecting dust and doing nothing but waiting for someone to burn my house down so I can collect insurance on it but for christ sake bro - those records aren't worth shit. Unless you had a signed Michael Jackson "Thriller" album w/ his semen on it - it's not worth more than Aunt Jemima's Syrup. There are very few vinyl records out there that have value like the Beatles and I'm sure as fuck you don't have record thats worth more than $50 in your collection. I have milk crates full of test pressings that aren't worth shit. I might as well save money by throwing them as skeet and shooting with a shotgun. (obviously keeping the gems because I'm not retarded)

Anyways... Listen dude, do your thing. I'm happy for you being passionate about music because thats important. But get a grip on reality. Baseball cards and comic books hold more value than most vinyl records unless you have a rare Beatles record or something along those lines. Again, this is a music forum not an Oprah-douche-drama.
