I really don't understand the food network. You don't go to a restaurant to watch annoying personalities make food. And that's all you get on that channel.

Watch Good Eats, it's the best show on the Food Network. It's just so much more than the regular cooking show. It's like cooking, comedy, science, and history all in one show. It's fucking awesome.

Great, and you can't even eat or smell it - the two senses most enjoyable with food.

I think the idea is cool but I just don't like Guy Fieri. I remember seeing him in the next food network star and thinking "I don't like that guy."

Aside from Good Eats, I prefer the Travel Channel over the Food Network with food related shows (No Reservations, Man v. Food, Weird Eats)

He's a bit of a tool, but for some reason he is strangely entertaining. Plus the food that he eats usually looks pretty awesome.

Isn't the point of food eating it, rather than watching someone making it?!?

people i know who watch cooking shows do it because it reminds them of a time when they were around home cooking. none of them actually use what they see to cook or experiment with new ingredients.
