My short review:
Avatar is simply mind blowing. Visual masterpiece. This stuff is made for watching in Imax, 400M$ well spent. A tad too long, and the hippie tree hugging crap was not necessary. 8.5/10
Great movie indeed! The tree hugging part was an essential part of the film how could you say that!
I heard it took them 10 years to shoot the movie!!

Heard only good reviews of that movie. And I'm a tree hugger so I should really like it =D
Well your looking at it in a way it was not meant to be seen. The natives worship a God and it happens to be nature. They're not like us self righteous humans who only care about trees because it makes us feel good about ourselves. These blue bastards have a direct bond with nature! They are the complete opposite of us, instead of using technology to take over bodies they use use natural ways. Who knows we might have been like this if technology was never advanced. 
yeah sorry for seeing it in a human perspective.
it took well over 200 mil to make the movie. Lets hope it was worth it..they grossed 73 mil in the 1st week.

Cost about 400$ to make... and that isn't taking publicity into account... publicity for this mega pic must have cost another 50-75 million...

Official budget is $237 mil from what I've heard. The $400 mil was an early estimate that the rumor mill got a hold of.
Untouchable visually, very predictable cliche storyline.
Everyone should see it in 3D.
And if we're doing movie comparisons, the plot is
Gonna see it in IMAX3D at noon, can't waittt
I'd say it's more of a "Pocahontas" version.

A good popcorn movie... nothing more, nothing less. Amazing visuals, but the rest was sub-par - dumb-downed story, corny characters, crude political overtones (Shock and Awe, really?)

Since there's a lot going around with this movie I got my ticket to see it in Imax next week 
Ya best idea is to see it at IMAX, the size of the screen just makes the movie more insane. Gotta agree with Nacht tho, thought the whole plot was amazing.
Edit: One of the sickest parts is near the beginning when the 2 of them are just running around the forest.
