Ministry of Sound presents ... - SOS [2CD]

No idea's of what so ever what to think bout this.
Curious especially for the first cd, since its the mixed one, with 28 tracks (not that so many trax on 1 disc hasnt been pulled out before - just curious to see how SOS will pull this off)

Arrow

28 tracks on one cd
should be interesting

Any already had a chance to listen to this?

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Jan-11-2010 15:43:

Really interested, even though Desyn's NYE set was a bit 'meh'.

same here dude...
I see that the tracks on the first 2 CDs are on the compilation (most of 'em),
and it seems CD3 is the actual CD1 along with CD4 being the actual CD2

yeah, CD3 and CD4 of the 4CD version are the mixed discs.
love it that Lodemann's "Where Are You Now?" is on it

it still surprises me that a mix comp by SOS gets so little attention

tell me about it...
Eh, maybe it's better this way

I've listened to the 1st disc (CD3) a few times now and as expected, i loved it.
There's something about SOS' sound that just evokes a thought/feeling of "maaan these guys are fuckin RIDICULOUS "

2nd disc (CD4) is also money, the highlight that sticks out for now to me is
SOS Best Things In Very Short Time <--- BOMB track

do you perhaps have some cue files for cd1 (CD3) and cd2 (CD4)?
i have the WEB release without cue's
and cant find the tracks and tracktimes on the aforementioned discs

/edt; 30 mins into cd1 (CD3)), and love it how groovy and 'un-techy' it sounds

one of my fave things about both CDs!
'un-techy' aka actually has soul

exactly. this cd surprised me so much w/ respect to sound.
perhaps some might disagree on the trackselection or mixing (havent judged either of those), but the feeling and groove on this cd is just great. true old SOS/Desyn style!

Only heard CD1 once, and can't say I'm impressed to be honest.... I don't feel the old Desyn-sound at all. Maybe one or two tracks stand out, the rest is pretty DULL on first listen. Besides that the transitions on quite a few tracks sound awful....

Might change my view after a few more listens....

My observations might've been too fast, keeping in mind that im so much in love latyely with all the kinda music suggested in the 'bringin the funk lately'-thread, the sounds suggested there, the dj's etc... that i made the wrong reference. Perhaps this mix comp has some similarities with the sound of that thread

At least im sure im pleased with the mix comp, and happily surprised

Posted by Schadenfreude on Feb-04-2010 17:33:

So i listened the other day out of curiosity, and all i can say is that it is exactly what could be expected from anything with "Ministry Of Sound" on it.

Take that as you will, not for me but some will like.

Posted by sh33p on Feb-06-2010 12:10:

ok, so the first cd is horrible, bad mixing, too many tracks and half of them are boring and cheesy! 5/10

but the 2nd cd is much better, track selection is awesome, im feeling the old desyn vibe in it. 8.5/10

Posted by TheVrk on Feb-06-2010 12:40:

Defo agree that CD2 is better.
CD1 i've found i really like the first 35 mins or so, then it tapers off interest-wise.
CD2 i love the whole way through

Posted by Bouma-Bros on Feb-07-2010 06:37:

Listened to it a couple of times now and I'm still very dissapinted in this release....

CD 1: 4/10
CD 2: 6/10

Overall a 5/10, so not worth the purchase at all for me.....

sos

The torrents that are online are not the genuine cd

The tunes on the mixes labelled disc 3 and disc 4 do not match the tracklist.

Fake
