Idea If you could go to any time and location in the past strictly for 24 hours...

If you had a chance to go to any time and location in the past strictly for 24 hours and just once in your life
1. and nothing you did there had any effect on your current present and future, i.e. no "butterfly effect",
2. and you were not allowed to take any material objects neither there nor back (including cameras, recorders etc)

(so basically no material evidence of your journey whatsoever. only impressions and memories)

As for me, definitely and without hesitation:

i'd be rocking in the front rows drunk

You?

Anfield circa 1990 to see Liverpool lift the league trophy. ftw

I'd go back to Super Bowl XLII and put it all on the Giants. Either that or witness the Tunguska event.

I'm a football fan myself, so:

The only tangible international success achieved by the Dutch football team ever, and with such a spectacular goal.

For only 24 hours? Dammit Alfi, think! Now your time travel permissions have been revoked.

well yeah, i dont really see where youre going with this?
OP says "If you had a chance to go to any time and location in the past strictly for 24 hours and just once in your life". I would go into the past, kill a shitload of ppl and stuff, then when my 24 hr time trip was over, i'd go back to living my normal boring life. Noone but me would have known what have happened, and it would be all kinds of fun if you know what i'm saying.. come to think of it, this sounds like an awesome movie idea! AND BAM! THIS POST IS TIMESTAMPED (I'LL ALSO TAKE A SCREEN CAP) SO NO POINT TRYING TO STEAL IT ******S!

edit: oh and forget that about going back to medieval times, that was just a side thought, and is probably just because of my man-crush on Bruce Campbell! Gimme some sugar, baby!

What's the deal with sports events? I mean, where's the point if you know exactly what will happen?

I'd go to Syracuse, Italy in 212 BC in order to prevent the Carthaginian traitor from selling out Hannibal and leading Roman soldiers into the city at night - not only did the successful Roman siege turn the tide of the Second Punic War and save the Roman Empire, but it also led to the death of Archimedes, the greatest inventor until da Vinci.

Fuck Rome.

Woodstock (the original in '69) would be a pretty sweet experience for a day.

Back to the 30's or 40's and experience Jazz in its truest form. Nights where big jazz artists touring in the same city would meet up at a club in the wee hours of the morning and, when it's just the musicians there and nobody else, would jam non-stop from 2am-7am and improv the whole time.

Nothing would beat that, imo.

why? what would the point be? when your 24 hour "trip" to the past was over everything would turn back to normal!
