I would say it's definitely something in the disco era.

i will survive hit number 1 out of all music when it come out, not just dance.

the thing with this is it was made with live instruments. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack also had some huge success, but once again, not electronic music.

Better of Alone by Alice Deejay is definitely a contender too.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Dec-31-2009 01:54:

2 unlimited - no limits

Haddaway - What Is Love? is high on the list, I bet

Not the top, but a contender... Donna Summer's popular song I Feel Love from 1977 predated electronic based disco music.

my vote would have to be for Kernkraft 400...
you cant go to a big sporting event in the US and not hear it..

I don't think Guetta qualifies yet if you are asking "of all time".

I'm definitely going to have to agree with Sandstorm as much as the track annoys me.

I'm pretty sure the OP meant the most popular song in the US. And EDM started in the US.

Sandstorm , Everytime We Touch , Boten Anna , Satisfaction etc..

If your looking for trance tracks.. Then its Traffic and Adagio For Strings I guess.

2 Unlimited - Get Ready For This - you'd hear this everywhere way back when.

Posted by Frenkieee on Jan-14-2010 15:38:

A few that haven't been mentioned yet.

Scoop - Drop It
DJ Jean - The Launch
Delirium - Silence
Southside Spinners - Luvstruck
Faithless - Insomnia
The Sunclub - Fiesta (even spun by Luciano lately )

What a bloody awful CD one can make with all aforementioned tracks
